I love how during the entirety of The Well of Ascension Elend is just… too busy to be apart of any plot except his own. Like it’s actually really funny how disgustingly oblivious he is to all of the happenings going on around him. Like hey turns out you have like at LEAST 12 magic half siblings that you don’t know about, & one of them just tried to fuck your girlfriend, but it’s okay because she just straight up kills him. & after that when Vin comes home she neglects to tell Elend about this fact in favor of informing him she wants to get married like right now & then nearly bleeds out on his nice marble floor.

The women Brandon Sanderson writes are very sexist and bad.

Steris is treated as the caretaker and child of Wax. Wayne's harrassment of women is treated as quirky. Vin kills herself because her husband died. All of Sunlit Man.

There are more examples that are more nuanced and that, in isolation, could be defended, but that I do read as misogynist because I have read a large amount of his bibliography and cannot read these in isolation (e.g. Shallan).

Seriously though, boiling down the ending of hero of ages to “vin kills herself because her husband dies” (first of all… no? Like I don’t know how you’re coming to that conclusion I don’t think we read the same book) is so brain dead it’s actually kind of causing me physical pain. Like calling that misogynist is such an insane reach you would have to apply that to every straight relationship in media at that point. It’s not misogynist to write a straight relationship bro. & secondly what about the sunlit man comes out as misogynistic to you exactly?
