Okay so I have an idea for another mental world that basically explores all the stuff I came up with in the previous post 👀

They redescover the mental world from RoR with the bathtub— except all the waters been drained. First-mate Loboto is devestated as it means they can no longer sail to new waters. So they go down the drain and it leads them into a cave, which leads them to a forest that is made up completely of medical equipment and human biology such as trees made of nerve endings/veins and giant scalpels covered in bandages. (cue the cover image.)

Their task is this: escape the forest and discover the shore so they can finally sail the seas again. But its not that simple. They also have to find all the bath tub toys that got scattered about the island and reunite them with the sea— and this is where they learn about the folklore of the island. The island is ruled by two angry gods, (his parents) that prevent anyone from leaving by weaponizing the nature there. Metaphorically, this represents how Lobotos parents influenced him to pursue medical passions instead of his *actual* passions, and escaping the island represents breaking free from his parents influence.

But its a team effort. The world is different here than from reality. The Doctor archetype wants to take the medical nature of the world too literally, wants to abandon the bathtub crew, wants to not even leave the island since he knows how unsafe the journey is. First-mate archetype is an adventurer, however, and has the intuition necessary to navigate these situations with ease. But because its stuff thats not obvious, the doctor archetype, who is also the one whos been in control of loboto for the longest, has a hard time trusting first-mate, and they get into squabbles a lot.

The goal of traversing this mental world is to get Loboto to accept the help of his first-mate archetype. By the end, First-mate is making all the decisions and guiding them to safety. This represents Loboto finally opening up and revisiting his repressed interests, and not relying so heavily on his obsessive coping mechanism from before.

When I made my first mental world years ago I planned on creating an entire comic for it— besides the fact I never got around to it, I'm probably not going to do that with this mental world, either. But I may make mini comics if some scenes pop up in my mind (that i feel like I can visualize well enough to draw.)

Continuation of my redemption AU. Here I wanted to showcase a mental world I created a few years ago. I mentioned it in the original post, but the premise is; Dr Loboto is in denial about being psychic and wants to believe he truly was cured because he's too ashamed of himself otherwise. This mental world follows an archetype Loboto developed as a child to cope with his medical trauma, where he roleplays as a doctor performing the exact procedure that was done onto him. Raz has to help him make the mental connection from Psychic to Acceptance, and on the way things get bumpy.

After Raz finally makes the connection, Loboto freaks out and the mental world collapses, cue the first images after the cut from the original post. This, alongside him regaining his moral compass from RoR, help start his journey to redemption.

One thing I imagined is Cassie helping him to revisit and befriend his archetypes again.

A thought I experimented with is Loboto's whole Doctor persona. I wondered if the only reason he became a makeshift doctor in the first place was to cope with his medical trauma by being in control of it— not to say he didn't develop an interest for it in the process, but that it's a part of himself he overexaggerates. After Raz helps him make the mental connection, his Doctor archetype is left helpless, rethinking his entire purpose. A part of his healing journey is getting the Doctor archetype to calm down and fully accept being psychic, and unpack exactly which parts of his passion for medicine are actual passions, vs just trying to cope and survive.

And then there's first-mate loboto. I know he isn't stated to be an archetype in RoR, but he would make a damn good one, so it's my own headcanon. First-mate Loboto is a manifestation of Loboto's love for the sea and oceanlife, as well as his more goody-two-shoes side. He developed during childhood and grew up with Loboto, but Loboto was ashamed of him, and tried to shut him out, which is where the whole bathtub fight scene manifests. He learned to loathe himself, and his first-mate archetype learned to fear Loboto as a whole. Part of his healing journey is learning to get along with his first-mate archetype again and accept his control over his actions.

The road to recovery on this front is bumpy and long, and Cassie often has to force Loboto to confront these negative feelings, but it eventually gets around, and is some of his most effective therapy. First-mate Loboto, now seen less as a shameful part of his identity, is given the reigns more often without consequence— the truth is, first-mate Loboto had always influenced Loboto's decisions, he just never got to fully bloom without being shut down. Now he has more room to roam free, and Loboto is able to indulge in the sweeter, more wholesome, more exploratory parts of his identity. His doctor-archetype, however, learns to take less control, and learns to take breaks and rest. He learns to calm down, and indulge in his interests in a healthier, more self-advocating way, rather than doing it because he feels he has to. He also learns to take more advantage of his psychic identity.
