Katniss was the only 12 victor who would have won without any help from people on the outside. Peeta too, technically, but he would have died early on without Katniss to help him. Snow cheated multiple times to help Lucy Gray win; Haymitch had inside knowledge about the arena from Beetee and Plutarch, and was given multiple tools to smuggle in. Katniss had nothing but a mockingjay pin and her will to live. She deserves so much recognition for her victory because literally no one else from 12 could have done it.

While we’re on the topic, characters that go back to destroy the place that hurt them after years of running away. They don’t forget. They get better to end the cycle in every way they know how.

The most heartbreaking character trope is the guy who makes his purpose in life fixing things, people, and bad circumstances, until eventually something tragic happens that he can’t fix and he cannot accept it. Even when everyone is already dead.
