Ah yes, yet another arc that probably could have been wrapped up better if they had the time.

Firstly, please please don’t feel bad because everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, especially if it’s not harming anyone! Different people will definitely interpret content in different ways and have different reactions. That’s the whole point of literature! :)

Your points are all definitely valid, and I do agree with a lot of them! But for me, Blaise’s death was unnecessary. We all knew she was a hero. I don’t think anyone of us ever doubted that she was a righteous person (even if she tended to bend the rules a bit). Her killing Kolo might not have been the right decision, but it never influenced how we thought of her as a moral character. Although she was “redeemed” in the eyes of the city/law for her sacrifice in the finale, it was never necessary for us to see that part of her (as the audience) since it was never in doubt in the first place.

There are currently no ways to download the episodes again (legally or otherwise). CoD doesn’t work on my phone either since servers are down so I can’t restore my purchases :’(

The Deathicated Blog, however, is an absolute blessing to this world because they’ve been posting steady screencaps of the episodes for years now. Please check them out and send them some love ♥

You can always check out the Cause of Death Wikia. They don’t have the chapter summaries, but if you check on individual characters, they’ve mostly been updated with what happens to them. I’ve also most a brief character summary list here.

I’d like to start this post off with a big apology. I’ve been neglecting these messages about the game for a REALLY long time now, and a lot of you were pretty panicked and deserved a quick answer... so for that I’m really sorry.

I wanted to wait until I had a solution to the problem, but as the months progressed, the likelihood of that happening kept decreasing :( I’m in the same boat as you guys - the week before I finally got an iPhone to redownload the episodes on, they took down the servers for good. 

EA Customer Support has not been helpful. The CoD Facebook Page has not announced anything new. I don’t think Apple would even be able to do anything, which sucks because I know a lot of us paid a lot of money to play this game and keep the episodes, on the presumption that we’d have them forever.

Is this game just going to be lost forever? Who knows. Maybe by some miracle, EA restores the servers, but that seems extremely unlikely.

If anyone has any updates/potential solutions on this, please let me know.

As to how I’m feeling after the end? It’s weird because it’s been long enough that I’m reasonably not devastated about it every day, but I’m also an unreasonably sentimental person so whenever I think about how much I loved the game, a fresh jolt of what feels heavily of nostalgia (with a hint of regret? loss?) goes through me.

Yeah, the game kind of got cut :( What we all think happened was that they weren’t making enough money and were having so many server difficulties that EA just decided to shut it down. They ended it at Vol 16 and removed the game from the app store.

Hopefully, you’ve synced your device with iCloud before? Most devices do this automatically. If so, try going to the app store on your phone and clicking on the “Updates” tab, then the “Purchased” tab. It should be under “apps not on this device” (you may have to search for it). Then, click on the little cloud download icon beside it to re-download it!
