To be honest, Viridian wasn’t quite sure what to get Yang either. After all, their relationship was still fresh, they were still figuring things out about each other. That didn’t mean she wasn’t going to get her girlfriend something! Viridian was the sentimental type, the person that LOVED holidays of all kinds. And THIS was the first Valentine’s Day that she wasn’t spending by herself, and she was so happy, so grateful to have met Yang. And admittedly, she went all out on her own gift.

She had chocolates, a card, and a bath set of lavender scented products that she herself liked all wrapped up in a box with a golden bow on top, all ready to go when they exchanged their gifts.

“You know I’ll love it...” The shorter girl replies as she accepts the box, carefully opening it with a smile on her face that grows even bigger as soon as she sees what’s inside. “Oh my goodness, Yang! It’s so pretty!” She exclaims, looking back up at the blonde with an approving nod.

If Rowan was a simple person to please, then August was the most simple being on Remnant ever.

To August, every passing day of his life spent with the most amazing blessing of a person he had ever met was just a reason to celebrate in itself. Valentine’s Day was just another day for them. However, that still didn’t stop them from getting each other gifts for today.

August is visibly excited even when he begins opening her gift, gasping when he pulls it out to admire. “Oh WOW.... Thank you so much, Aurora, it’s beautiful!” The spider faunus happily exclaimed as he held the bracelet in his hand, tenderly turning it over to examine it more closely. “Really... It’s beautiful. Thank you...”

He turns to her, leaning in to give her a happy kiss on the lips. “I’ll need some help puttin’ it on...” August said with a grin. “Ya’ll know I’m gonna be wearin’ this all the time...”

“N’ I hope you like my gift too....” His gift for her was a personalized book for her, all braille, with their names emboldened on the cover, raised text that she’d be able to feel, with the shape of a spider right next to it.

Rowan may seem extravagant in his tastes, but really, they were simple enough, easy to understand. It didn’t take much to please him, and Blake ALWAYS hit the nail right on the head. She truly knew him well.

Red smoky eyes admire the scene she had set up before them, noting all the little extra details she put into the dinner, the way the food had all been prepared. It smelled delicious. Even just that by itself, Rowan would have appreciated and loved it.

But the gift she gave him earlier, words couldn’t even describe...

“Oh... Oh my...” The deer faunus had murmured quietly when he opened the box, eyes widening when he held it out for the two of them to see. It wasn’t just some simple gift, she truly put thought into it. It was special just for that reason. It was always the personal gifts that made the deer faunus happy, but really, anything the feline would have done, he would’ve been satisfied. “Thank you, my love...”

Immediately, a small smile playing at his lips as long and nimble fingers undo the little clasp with the intent of putting it on. “Now... I know you’ll enjoy my gift....” He says, giving her a knowing and loving look.

Admittedly, it was just a bit funny. Just a bit.

His gift to her, it was a silver pendant, of a moon surrounded by antlers hanging from a matching chain of its own.

“I mean-- I LIKE what we have going? I don’t see why the hell I have to indulge anyone about our relationship status.” The boy with the mohawk rolled his eyes, crossing his arms with an unamused expression on his face. “It’s not so bad. It makes us stress less this way, when we don’t have to ‘worry’ about whatever we are.”

“Gosh... What about her ISN’T special, would be an easier question to answer...” The redhead muses softly, trying to think of something to respond with that makes sense. “Her eyes... Her semblance... The answer is quick and short; The deer faunus didn’t wish to entertain such negative and taunting questions. He knows they don’t care how he answers. He knows they just want to get a rise out of him. He leaves it at that, looking away to the side, not even giving them so much as his classic glare.

Blake had her problems to work out. He understood that she had to do what she had to do. It’s just....

Hey, it doesn’t take much to please Nero, who immediately laughed as soon as he saw the “coupon”, turning it over to see what exactly the terms and conditions were. “Dude, you KNOW I’m definitely gonna take advantage of these, especially for a night of fun, heh. Thanks, Eden.”

The silly part of August thought: ‘Oh, I don’t need anything for Christmas’, and thus, he was very surprised to receive a gift from Aurora. This was not to say that he wasn’t welcoming of the gift. Quite the opposite, really.

“Oh wow!” August exclaimed before he even opened up the gift, giving the girl a hug. “Thank you, Aurora! Ya’ll didn’t have to...”

Releasing her from the hug, he kept on smiling as he proceeded to open the gift, his grin growing bigger and his eye widening in surprise as soon as he saw the goggles.

“WOW.” His voice raised in volume as he took the goggles out of the box, examining them with interest. “Oh my gosh-- they have my name on them? You REALLY didn’t have to.” And with that, he has to take great care to put them back in the box just so he can give the feline an even tighter hug than before.

The feline knows the stag far too well. Upon waking up in the most pleasant way possible and opening the gifts, the corners of his mouth twitch as soon as sleepy eyes light up with recognition of what the gifts actually are. What made it even more special and enjoyable, was just how clearly excited Blake was to give him the gifts. Even he himself understood that feeling, the anticipation of giving someone something he knew they’d love.

“EXACTLY what I needed, Blake...” Rowan nods, lifting his eyes from the various gifts to the beautiful girl beside him, slowly leaning over to give her a kiss directly on the lips. He was still a bit tired, and needed a few more minutes before his head fully cleared enough to start the day properly. “I love the ties. Thank you, and Merry Christmas to you too.”

Speaking of, it was only fair that he give her some gifts in return, correct?

A small tail flicks, and a pale hand gestures out, inviting the equally enchanting being forward for the offer. Others, especially humans, were difficult to trust. But Xern, she was different. 

“You’re quite alright,” Rowan assured Xern, “Don’t be afraid...” 

And when he feels her touch upon his skin and his fur, the centaur did not make any moves of his own. To a centaur, these two organs coexisting within his body was completely normal. But to humans, he understood that there was a fascination behind it. However, Xern was the first Rowan had let be this close to him. He patiently waited, following her hands with his eyes until he was certain she had her curiosity satisfied enough. A hoof lifted, and the centaur stepped back to return her smile with a somber yet pleased nod. Rowan hardly ever smiled. This was the best he could do.

“Thank you...”

A sort of curiosity filled his own mind. Xern wasn’t human; that was clear as day. He could sense it. Brows furrowed, piercing red eyes stared quizzically, and ears flicked forward as Rowan found himself tilting his head as he studied the girl.
