We Know

We lost our first game this season..

“You’ll win the next game bro.”

“Okay, how about we don’t fall and break ourselves today.” Lucas caught her before she fell, slightly laughing.

“There’s a wine stain on my favourite dress. I’m going to cry.”

“No clue how to help you out on that.”

“apparently, if some annoying ass teenage boy comes up to you and tells you that you look 12, responding with ‘ yeah on a scale of one to ten ‘ is not an answer he’ll like.”

“That’s a great answer!”

I know today is already going to be a long day. I’m already on my fifth cup of tea and I’m still can’t seem to get awake. Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. 

Tea doesn’t help me at all to stay awake. It’s usually coffee that does the trick.

“That song is so old,” she mumbled. “…But carry on.”

“It’s still a great and fun song.”

“I’m sure you could buy another pair maybe? Or wash them again?”

“I love my bar more than I love a prison sentence, so no need to worry.”

“Good. I don’t really think anyone would love a prison sentence.”

“Mama isn’t really all that bad, either. She’s just a bit protective is all. But, running away to another country would be great and all – romantic and stuff. But, I don’t think now would be the time for that with me about to start my senior year and all that.”

“I just hope she doesn’t end up killing me. We can run away after you graduate then. We can go anywhere you want.”

“She started shit in my bar. If the punch to the throat didn’t work, I was going to shoot her with rock salt. It wouldn’t kill her but it’d hurt like Hell.”

“Just make sure you don’t end up killing anyone.”

“Thanks dude!”

“How’ve ya been?”

“I was just asking if you were okay. You seemed a little bit out of it.” Lucas smiled slightly making sure the girl was okay.

“Ah..Lima, I’ve missed you.”

“Welcome back, man.”

“I guess but…my mom always gets pissed when I do it ‘cause I usually stay out all night.”

“Yeah I guess that could be a problem.”
