Food of the Day: Nasi Kandar
had nasi kandar at the mamak and omg… the sheer chaos of it is what makes it perfect. you point at the dishes, the guy piles everything onto your plate, and suddenly you’ve got rice drowning in like five different curries. it looks messy but tastes like heaven.
i had fried chicken, some okra, and of course the kuah banjir (they just flood the plate with curry). every bite is a mix of flavors—spicy, tangy, a little sweet—and you can’t really tell where one ends and the other begins. that’s the magic.
the mamak vibe makes it even better. sitting there late at night with bright lights and fans spinning, people ordering teh tarik, the smell of food everywhere… it just feels alive. eating nasi kandar isn’t fancy, but it makes you feel full in the best way possible.
it’s one of those meals where you don’t think too hard—you just eat and enjoy. messy, flavorful, and always satisfying. nasi kandar is pure comfort on a plate.
