Recently the government appealed schools to adopt remote learning amidst the fuel crisis and apart from that even the heatwaves are troubling schools a lot, many schools revised the timings, and many others closed the schools considering the health of the students.

But there was a thing we did during COVID, which we now have forgotten i.e. hybrid learning, which in simple terms mean shifting education to online mode when the commute becomes impossible.

Schools should take education online/remote before things get worse, or they should start with drill or pilot programs to test and figure out how hybrid learning would work for their school.

Recently, many schools have revised their timings due to extreme weather conditions, and many others have shut down the operations leaving the kids with no or very little access to education. Also, the government has issued an advisory asking schools to switch to remote learning. This brings back to the same question; how do schools operate with a remote model while still keeping the learning alive - the answer is a hybrid model.

Back in school, there were days when our teacher wouldn't check our exam papers herself and instead, she'd ask us to swap papers with a classmate and grade each other, or sometimes just review our own. At the time, none of us really understood what that exercise was actually doing for us.

It's only when you grow up that it hits you, how much those small moments mattered. As adults, we're constantly shrinking ourselves based on what others think of us, letting someone else's opinion define how we see our own work, our own worth. But the kids who were taught to evaluate themselves early? They carry something different with them. A certain groundedness. A confidence that doesn't depend on waiting for someone else's approval.

Self-evaluation, when practiced from a young age, quietly builds so much like better judgment, accountability, and most importantly, a stronger sense of self. It teaches you to look at your own work honestly, without flinching.
