People really don't understand how ridiculous that no Israeli tried to resist the genocide while being literally right next to it, that's like if Philadelphia was being bombed nonstop for months and people in NYC just went about their lives normally. Like they really did not care. Palestine is a small place, israelis could have gone to right outside gaza's borders and back to their houses in a day if they wanted. They could have organized like a weapons blockade or blocked the road to air bases but no one did anything. They were literally right there. Tel Aviv is like an hour from Gaza. It has like 4 million people. No one cared. Literally mind boggling to me.
Many Israelis protested their government, from refusing military service to demonstrations outside of government buildings.
The fact that they failed to stop the genocide is not evidence that no one cared.
Here is one article about ongoing protests, but Israelis have been protesting since the beginning.
Israeli activists gathered in West Jerusalem on Friday to demand an end to the Israeli military campaign and genocide in the Gaza Strip, Ana
I'm sorry but holding signs and yelling slogans means nothing when you are literally RIGHT there. Refusing draft is the bare minimum I'm not gonna commend them for not doing genocide. Can you imagine living right next to people who are being massacred endlessly for months and you just hold up signs and chant?? That's insane to me. You're literally right there and you don't organize some form of block at entrances of air bases??? "Protesting" is peanuts what people in fucking England are vandalizing weapons manufacturers. In the US there were blockages of weapons shipments. Israelis literally did NOTHING material and they have family members who directly participate in the genocide. That's so ridiculous!!!!
Also how many are protesting? Leftists in Israel keep repeating that they're a small minority, but why is that the case? Israel wasn't created on top of depopulated Palestinian villages only yesterday. What kind of work is this community doing? How come it's unable to grow in number and strength?
The fact is, when Zionist lunatics wanted to, they did manage to walk up and camp right outside of Gaza to block aid trucks from entering. In response to that, a convoy of about 30 vehicles of Israeli leftists drove down to the border and wore tshirts that said don't starve Gaza or something, but then they also made sure to tie yellow ribbons to their side mirrors to signify their stance, you know the same yellow ribbons worn by genocidal war criminals like Netanyahu himself.
So they might want to hold up signs and chant but it will more likely be to release the hostages or to slow down the massacres, not to lift the siege or end the occupation. It's almost as if they don't want to acknowledge the root cause of this violence and I wonder why.... /s

Sorry for the lack of content, i just wanted to share my dove watercolor/acrylic painting i did tday :)
I kinda drew it from memory, and from my feelings. I like birds alot and this piece means alot to me ♥︎ I wish I was this little one.
Relevant to what I just reblogged, every library I've worked at has enthusiastically gone all-in on Banned Books displays but only one was just as eager to put books by and about trans people on said displays with zero compunctions. It really opened my eyes about who these kinds of displays were for/what kind of message was being communicated, when they're proudly displaying 1984 for the twentieth year in a row but freezing up at the suggestion that we also display, for instance, Maia Kobabe's Gender Queer during the height of its controversy
sometimes when my mom gets drunk she goes into Liberated Women Mode, and one time she was real tipsy and while talking about her friend’s divorce, she very earnestly told me and my sister (both adults) that regardless of preference or relationship, she hoped we would both reach a point in our lives where we were having really good sex with really good people. and my sister said, “i do that now except the good people part” and i said, “sex is real?” and my mom didn’t love either of those answers

‼️🚨EMERGENCY UPDATE🚨‼️
🍉🍉Please do not ignore🍉🍉
After a long struggle during the war, my father's condition deteriorated rapidly and madly (a broken pelvis, blocked arteries, high blood pressure, and ulcers in his diabetic foot).
Thank God, we have arrived in the Arab Republic of Egypt to receive treatment. He is now lying in intensive care and his condition is critical.
I left my wife and children in Gaza, who are in dire need of me. The situation there is very catastrophic and the war could return at any moment.
My daughter needs weekly treatment that costs more than 500 euros.
We are here today in Egypt. I do not have anything to move around with. I hope that whoever sees this post will donate and share it widely, as I am in dire need.
I am physiotherapist Ahmed Khalil Al-Habil from palestine _Gaza I have been… Ahmed Alhabil needs your support for Help Us To Survive A

it's very surreal to see posts about palestine dwindling down after the ceasefire. israel is still blocking aid to and trying to make life difficult for palestinians in gaza. we still have to continue to speak up about gaza.
in this ceasefire, many palestinians are trying to rebuild in attempts to try and return to what they had before the genocide. despite the heavy and unbearable loss of life that gaza has experienced, her people continue to try to make a better world for their children.
alaa is a mother of two young children. she wants to rebuild her house and get a better future for her children. please have heart and consider helping her out. her fundraiser has been verified.

Urgent surgery needed to save Gaza teen’s leg
Mohammed is in a crisis situation, on which you can find more information under our “#mohammed al habil” tag.
Mohammed has been unable to attend his physical therapy due to lack of funds. The condition of his leg has deteriorated as a result.
He now requires an urgent operation in order to save the function in his leg. Mohammed is only 18, and he is terrified of spending the rest of his life with only 1 usable leg.
The operation costs $4,000. Currently, Mohammed's campaign is at just over €17,000. This represents the total funds raised over time, not the funds currently avallable.
New temporary goal: €21,000 EUR
Need to raise: €3,712 EUR (about $3,828 USD)
Please help Mohammed save his leg!
NOTE: I am unable to effectively fundraise for Mohammed. We are urgently hoping for bloggers who will be able to devote time and attention to promoting his campaign. Please consider making a post for Mohammed to promote his campaign so he can save his leg!

🚨🚨Major update!!🚨🚨
As explained here, Mohammed underwent the first stage of the surgery he needs to return function to his leg. This has left him with serious medical debt that he must pay off urgently.
He remains stranded in southern Gaza, unable to walk due to his injury. He is all alone, and has no way to support himself. He desperately needs funds for food, his ongoing care regiment, his debt, and a future medical evacuation.
We have set a new temporary goal to raise €500 EUR (about $525 USD)

i just hope that no person anywhere in the world at any point in the future has to go through what mothers in gaza went through these past few months.
like it was so insane. women were giving birth without medical aid and having c-sections without anaesthesia while being malnourished and unable to properly provide food and warmth to their newborns. they couldn't produce milk and couldn't afford baby formula. hell, at a certain point finding baby formula was impossible in certain areas of gaza. and there was the constant fear of death hanging over their heads.
there were hopes that after the ceasefire things would improve for these babies and their mothers. that their quality of life would improve. but now that there are chances that israel won't continue with the ceasefire, we need to support these mothers and infants, now more than ever.
please please consider helping my friend suad, who has a little baby boy who suffers from respiratory problems. she just wants to ensure her son's well being. baby khaled is around 8 months old. her fundraiser has been verified (#279).
please help suad and her baby
Gone, but not forgotten. 🦤 Today’s Exhibit of the Day is one of the most famous birds in history: the Dodo (Raphus cucullatus). This iconic species is a lesson in extinction. Around the year 1600, Dutch soldiers found the Dodo on Mauritius Island, east of Madagascar. Less than 80 years later, it was gone. Deforestation, hunting, and the introduction of invasive species contributed to the downfall of this flightless bird.
Though it died out before photography, the Dodo’s skeleton offers clues about what this species was like. For example, this bird couldn’t fly—its wings were small for its size, its sternum had no keel (the support birds need for flight muscles), and it had thick leg bones made for walking. You can see a Dodo skeleton in the Museum’s Hall of Biodiversity.

Reminder that notes/online attention are not a reliable indicator of how well a campaign is going.
You might see fundraising posts with thousands of notes on your dash daily and think to yourself "this person must be doing fine!"
I wish that were true. I saw a post earlier referring to people with fundraisers as "those fortunate enough to have internet clout" but unfortunately internet clout is not a currency that can buy food and other necessities. It's only a testament to how much effort that person spends desperately networking in order to make ends meet, and often not succeeding at that. These people do not have an advantage.
I spotlight for @dr-anas96 and his posts consistently get a lot of notes. He's vetted here.
Here's an interview in English and Spanish he did for AJ+. and also here's a recent article about him in Spanish.
And where does that get him?
He's barely at 19% of his goal, as of today, December 13th, which marks 6 months since he started fundraising.
Anas is slowly dying of starvation and of his illnesses that he cannot currently get treated for. Don't be fooled by the amount of notes this will get. If you can spare a dollar please don't hesitate to donate here.
First Ramadan Iftar in Gaza, Palestine.
Israel closes the crossings into the Gaza Strip and stops the delivery of food and medicine to besieged Gaza with the push of a button for the second day in a row.Let it be clear that Israel refuses to begin the second phase precisely because this phase of the agreement includes a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a final end to the “war,” both of which Israel does not want. here
Hi all! Recently, Marah @mahrahpalestine has not only had her previous blog terminated, but her family has been unable to transfer money from GFM. This has been happening with quite a few Palestinian campaigns lately. I will now be hosting their family's campaign on Chuffed, which is openly pro-Palestine!
Hello! I am hosting a campaign for the Balousha family as they can no longer access campaign funds from GoFundMe!
Please support this campaign! Thank you!!
My campaign transfers have been stopped since the beginning of November, and I fear that it will take more time or the amount will be lost due to Govand's deliberate policy of deleting some Palestinian accounts. So I need your support here to help my family right now, and I swear my family needs you more than ever.

Mohammed's surgery is scheduled for Monday, 20 January 2025
That is 5 days from today. He needs to be able to pay for the surgery by that day, or it will be cancelled, and rescheduling puts him at greater risk of permanent disability.
It is possible to pay the bill in installments. However, Mohammed wants to pay as much of the bill as possible in order to get the expense out of the way. I'm setting our new temporary goal at half the cost of the surgery, which will bring us to €19,567 EUR, but I'm hoping we can exceed that goal before Monday.
New temporary goal: €19,567
Currently: €17,792
Progress: €225
Need to raise: €1,775 EUR (about $1,828 USD)
UPDATE
Mohammed’s surgery was yesterday. We did not raise the full amount, so he agreed to pay in installments. He had hoped to avoid this, but it was not possible.
Unfortunately, the surgery was only partly successful. To restore functionality to his leg, he will eventually have to travel outside of Gaza to get the care he needs. This is an extremely expensive prospect, and we will need to raise funds for this in the future.
Now, however, Mohammed is $2000 USD in debt to the hospital. Multiple people on the ground in Gaza have told me that the collections departments of Gaza’s few remaining medical facilities have become extremely aggressive. They are using imprisonment and threats of violence and legal action to bully impoverished, displaced people into scrambling to find money they do not have.
Mohammed has no income, and nor does anyone in his family. Additionally, his family has multiple disabled members who require expensive ongoing care, so they cannot help him with this bill. He is weak from starvation and only has one functional leg. We are deeply concerned for his safety should be come under scrutiny by the collections office.
Please continue sharing Mohammed’s campaign, and donating what you can. The sooner we get this debt paid off, the sooner we can start collecting funds for his evacuation and treatment abroad.
Current: €19,446 EUR
New temporary goal: €21,446 EUR
