wanted to do a bigger version of him, i posted it on twitter so maybe you've seen it already but here's trait !! he's super soft :) i don't know if anyone would like to get the pattern ?

I built the four weapons wielded by the Uber Bunny in Homestuck, these being the Warhammer of Zillyhoo (top left), the Quills of Echidna (bottom right), the Royal Deringer (top right), and Ahab’s Crosshairs (bottom left). And so I decided to make a tutorial on prop weapons. This is part 1/5, in which I will give some basic instructions on how I built these and some recommendations as to what materials/techniques to use.

DISCLAIMER: This is quite long, and it doesn’t include detailed guides as to how to make each individual prop shown above. Parts 2-5 will be more generic tutorials dedicated for that. For now, I’m just giving the generalized formula that I use on how to make props in general. If you read this guide and have some creativity and resourcefulness, you should be able to make a wide variety of prop weapons as I have myself.  If you want specific guides, future me has finally finished them. I got an anon request for the pattern I used to make my Signless grub way back in December, and I just now got around to making it.  Sorry for the delay, anon.

You will need:

Fleece in black (for legs) and your grub’s blood color (for body)

Gray minky or other soft material for face (you can use fleece here but I like the difference in texture)

Black plastic doll eyes or buttons

Black craft fur for hair (I’m still looking for a good material to use for longer hair)

Sturdy wire for armature (optional, if you want your grub to be posable)

Stuffing

Horns for your troll (I made mine out of paperclay and painted them with acrylics), hot glue or other method of attaching them

First:  download the three JPEGs for the pattern pieces (right-click and open image in new window to get full-size) and print them out on 8.5x11" paper.  They should produce a grub approximately 9 inches long.  Sewing instructions are below.  (Edit: Wow I’m dumb I forgot to mention seam allowance.  I use about 3/8" and it should be included in the pattern already.)
