Autistic tangent. The thing about NSBM is people do get triggered by it, yes. Not only for the reasons most people think, like morality. Black metal is an escape for many people. Even edgy, hardcore, individualistic people need an escape from the world which can be oppressive and too much, and hostile, and well fascistic, against those who are different or highly sensitive. In fact, these edgy people need it more than most people cause they are so sensitive. Whether they want to admit it, they (we) are sensitive as fuck. Probably not in the touchy feely empath way, but just super attuned to the everything. Alot of counterculturists are, which is why they are the way they are. Black metal in particular is full of real sensitive people who want that power back from a world that wont allow them to have it. So we escape into ourselves, into nature, into the darkness. Its literally a normal human response to trauma, basic self preservation instincts. We have our little autistic interest in gore, nature, psychology, spirituality, and just the general nature and darkness of reality. We create a sanctuary where our triggers cant hurt us anymore. So, NSBM does trigger even apathetic, hardcore, animal mutilating black metalheads because its authoritarian and feels unsafe, hostile in a way they cant control or have much power to resist. The key to safety is a sense of control. NSBM is hated in the scene not cause (or not just cause) its racism, but also because its fucking illogical and authoritarian. The scene is messy, that happens in extreme, nihilism based subcultures. That doesnt mean that literally anything goes, because humans have instincts.
