He needed some air. Badly. So much so that it felt as through someone had wrapped a rope around his chest and was pulling it tighter with every breath.This couldn’t be happening! They couldn’t have been in accident like this! His friends couldn’t be dead! This had to be a nightmare, right?!
Leaning against the wall with a pained wail, Jonghyun gripped his hair tightly, knuckles turning white as his head pounded from everything Minwoo had just told him. (And from something just out of his reach, taunting him) How?! How could he be alive when all of his friends were dead?! Him, the smallest and weakest of them all?! And if he was dead, how the hell had Minwoo even been talking to him, explaining all this to him?! Ghosts didn’t exist!
He must have been hallucinating in that room. That or it was an elaborate prank. It was the only logical reason for all of this. He’d hit his head and now Minwoo, Junseo and Jungwhan were playing a trick on him as punishment for getting up late. Though, Jonghyun was tempted to stick with the hallucinating path of thought because his arm went straight through Minwoo’s shoulder. It had to be the blow to his head that was tormenting him like this!
❝ Oh? You can’t tell? Even when I’ve been in High Cut and Looktique?❞
Yes, it had to be a dream. Because how else could Junseo be standing there, bragging about himself and putting on that perfect act if he was dead? Slowly, trying to keep himself from becoming light-headed and to ease the suffocating feeling in his chest, he made this way to Junseo and the nurses, giving them a weak and tearful smile, even attempting a bad joke.
“Ju-junseo hyung… I knew I had to have been dreaming, because you’re—! C-can I talk to to you, in private? Or do I have to make an appointment?”
Junseo was truly at his limit now, wondering why in the hell he still got so flustered in the company of strangers even though he was, well, dead. It wasn’t an easy pill to swallow at first, but what’s done is done, and slowing but surely he got used to the fact. Sort of. He just had to make absolutely sure these nurses wouldn’t touch him lest he has to be subjected to their screams of terror. Though it would be a pretty fun prank.
Hearing a familiar voice, Junseo turned his head, a wave of relief washing over him; not only because he found his escape route, but to also see his friend up and about.
❝ H-Huh? Yeah! Of course I have time!❞ he replied in an equally cracked voice before excusing himself from the nurses even more quickly, making a beeline toward Jonghyun.
As much as he wanted to put his shoulders on him in relief, thanking him, he thought it would be smart to avoid it. Instead, he gave a small awkward wave and a smile. ❝ Yo.... what’s up man?❞
Where was Minwoo? Playing this by ear wasn’t going to be easy, but he had to try, Junseo unsure if Minwoo broke the news to him.
