Thorn paused, glowering at the unfamiliar being. How dare he. The echidna’s stance was tense, her shoulders rigid and she was crouched as if preparing to fight the other.
“You insulted my island.”
At least… that’s how she took what he said. A slight breeze blew and she shifted her gaze down to the water before looking back at the Darkling. “Don’t ever do that again. “I don’t take kindly to strangers saying such offensive remarks about where I live. Who are you and what do you want?”

“I don’t really see how saying that it’s a big lump of dirt, sand and trees with added water is an insult. Is… is that not what it is?” He makes a face. “It’s… kind of normal for an island to consist of those things as far as I’m learning right now.” His tail flicked about idly as he continued perching on a rock, staring at the Echidna.
“The name’s Eclipse.” He looked her up and down quickly. “I’d shake your hand but you currently look like you would prefer to break it. And as far as for why I’m here, I don’t know. Bound to get a jump wrong sometimes. So I’m exploring before I head home.”
“That’s not JUST what the island is, it’s so much more than that.” Thorn sighed, exasperated. She slowly shook her head, not wanting to explain how it was insulting to her. She didn’t even know this creature, no reason to get so upset. She KNEW she shouldn’t be so angry about it but... this was her home, and she adored her island.
“...I am Thorn.” She left out the ‘princess’ title before folding her arms across her chest. “And you’re smart for assuming that. As long as you promise not to harm anyone or anything here... feel free to explore.”
