For reference; Moontide (and its accessories) are from an outfit box. Usually you can buy the outfit for 25 designer thread (DT) and the box it comes in for 2 designer thread. This issue flipped the prices. (Outfit 2 DT and box 25 DT) The exploit here is that you could buy the Moontide outfit for 2 DT and salvage it for 10 DT. Making it easily farmable to buy any outfit/box that you can purchase for DT. This issue had been around for months prior to this post but hadn’t been dealt with because it “wasn’t a priority.” The issue with this is that this issue was known by very few, and posting this (instead of silently fixing it) it became wide spread and many flocked to the specified area. Any outfits that could come from any DT boxes where on the market place for extremely cheap (ie: Rosethorn ~15g etc) This also caused pet pod prices to drop and soulstone to skyrocket due to some boxes containing pets that could be salvaged. (and some people taking this chance to max their pet aura) Rumors began to spread of people getting banned for participating in the exploit (although only one person was confirm temp banned to my knowledge) and after a few days it died down and people seemed to stop buying outfits etc. On August 19th, 2 and a half weeks later, people logged on to find anything bought with these threads, wiped from their accounts. This may not seem like an issue, since these things were obtained illegitimately but the problem lies A) they could have dealt with this sooner, avoiding people thinking they’ve gotten away with it and everything is fine. Or even initiated an emergency maintenance and wipe the issue immediately (or listen to the tickets sent months before hand and avoid this entirely.) but more importantly; B) this did not just wipe these new illegitimate outfits. This update wiped all items that could be obtained from DT from any character that participated in the exploit. Outfit you bought with real money 2 years ago? Doesn’t matter. Gone. Any and all outfits that could be obtained from the boxes had been ripped from your account, without a word. Clearly many people were upset and sent tickets complaining over their stolen legitimate cosmetics. All were given a generic copy paste response directing them to a forum post where they admitted this was a mistake and only the exploited outfits were meant to be removed. After another week,with little word on any fix/progress, on August 27th, it was announced that all stolen cosmetics would be returned to the accounts on September 2nd.

Thus today after maintenance we received our wiped cosmetics via mail.
