Here’s an absolute must read for everyone. If you can only focus on one nonfiction book, this is the one! I love when a writer can discuss modern societal trends without skirting around the complexities at play. Here, the writing (& narration) is very accessible, full of relatable anecdotes and interviews which make it feel like you were in on the research team as this book was conceived. One big surprise for me came early on in the chapters and demonstrated how far back in history this problem of shortening attention spans actually goes. (Hint: it has been around longer than the internet)
The topic is imperative and timely for our collective consideration and urgent action.
While I’m more of an audiobook person lately, this is one title where I wished I’d owned a hard copy, as there’s lots of good points for that old-fashioned highlighter action.
