Hi everyone, I am appealing to everyone who can help out one of my closest friends who is in a very dire financial situation. For the sake of her privacy and safety, I will keep crucial information which is the most important one and that matters currently.

(a picrew my friend has made to physically represent herself) My friend, Jamie, is a transfem (shey/they) gal, with multiple disabilities (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder) who is working part time but not getting enough hours. In 2024, during late Summer she was officially laid off from her company and ever since then they have been trying to find a stable source of income, but doing part time work can only get you so far until it's not enough to survive. It is now 26th of July as of this date. They have recently moved to a cheaper apartment in June of 2025, and she is subletting from previous tenant until September 1 when the lease changes. Her new landlord has suddenly demanded all the money associated with moving (first month rent (850$l + last month rent (850$l + security deposit (175$)) on August 1. This is illegal.

Even though this is illegal, her landlord has the power to potentially refuse to let her and her roommates live at their current apartment beginning September 1 if they push back. They are still recovering from the costs of their most recent move this year in June, and she won't be able to find a replacement apartment neither financially nor within reasonable time frame. Cover moving costs a lot in her state, and all new lease costs for the new place on top of that before then. She is trying to avoid homelessness as her family is incredibly unaccepting and transphobic. She will be forced to borrow money from them, and moving back in their birth place is incredibly risky, not to mention dangerous.
