What horrifies me most is the idea of being useless: well-educated, brilliantly promising, and fading out into an indifferent middle age.

I need to be very real for a moment,
Almost everyone says that the hardest part of writing is actually sitting down and writing.
But I find that the hardest part is having and maintaining confidence and trusting in yourself. Especially if you have something like anxiety and/or depression.
I constantly doubt myself. My brain is constantly telling me that I’m shit, what I write is shit, and no one wants to fucking read it. But there’s the teeny tiny regular part of my brain that’s like…no you have something really good. Go for it!!!! If people don’t like it then fuck them!
It’s so hard to to trust in yourself, your abilities, and your idea. But you’ve got to. You’ve got to trust yourself and where you are taking your idea, regardless of whether or not you know where your story is going.
Get a friend to help you and cheer you on. If your writing doesn’t turn out like you wanted, it’s okay, keep working at it. You’ll get there. The more you write and learn, the better you’ll get.
Just trust in yourself and have confidence in your idea. No one can write your idea like you can with your exact style, ideas, and character interpretations.
Oh.
It me
And, if I may add, don’t give a shit about what “everybody says”, about whatever. Follow and trust your gut, always. And stay true to yourself.

If you can’t feel, why did you kiss me?” Patch traced a finger along my collarbone, then headed south stopping at my heart. I felt it pounding through my skin. “Because I feel it here, in my heart,” he said quietly.

If it’s darkness we’re having, let it be extravagant.
