☩ A COMFORTING SHOULDER ☩ 002. ┋ HAWKE, J
ELLA DIDN’T THINK SHE HAD ANY TEARS LEFT. if nothing else, she’d at least wanted to BRAVE it through the day. if only he hadn’t called after her. but did she really resent being here, ALONE with him? as she felt the weight of his hand against her shoulder, she realised that NO, she very much didn’t resent him for asking her to stay behind. umber hues blink away tears as they BURY themselves into the ruggedness of his forest eyes. he stepped closer; ella could feel the erratic beating of her heart, as it threatened to LUNGE from her chest thud, thud, thud. it raced loudly in the lingering silence between them.
UNTIL MUSCLE ENCIRCLED HER, HELD HER. it was all ella could do to CRY into the chest that overwhelmed her with an entirely NEW sensation, the smell of INK AND OLD BOOKS woven thickly into the warm fabric against his chest. she let her eyes close, relish in the peace he offered with his embrace. how was this meant to feel wrong? she didn’t have time to question the way her stomach fluttered with what felt like NERVES, as she’s faced with his gaze, fixated so solely on her. ‘ -half the guys at HOGWARTS, you mean. ’ a hint of a smile graced her lips, the heartbreak subsiding, changing into something else entirely.
‘ HAWKE, WOULD YOU FORGIVE THEM? ’ hawke because as a professor, he’d known about the events of the trial, about the actions of a certain malfoy and redhead. she snaps her eyes away from his briefly, before SEEKING the same comfort that had swallowed her mere moments ago. a hand reaches to grasp at his forearm, the touch GROUNDING her. ‘ -would i be a BAD daughter for forgiving him? ’ ella gazed up at him, let her eyes travel along the ragged edges of his jaw, the deep furrow of his brows. he was rough, and beautiful. all she wanted was to fall further into the arms that hung loosely around her waist.
fingers TIGHTEN around the shirt at his ARM. ‘ thank you. ’ EXHAUSTION settled, as ella pressed her CHEEK to his chest.
