thanks to a new member of the ES21 Discord server I discovered that Hiruma’s VA is also a singer and just– hOT DAMN

I LOVE Eyeshield 21’s first OVA (aired at Jump Festa 2004), simply because of that one scene where Yoichi wreaks havoc at the biker gang-infested field XDD

The best part is he did it just so little kids could play in the park again and they just… go back to casually playing in what looks like a war zone

You can just hear him thinking “FUCK YES. FUCK YES. YOICHI FUCKING HIRUMA JUST OUTRAN THE PSYCHOPATH PRODIGY, DON’T Y’ALL FORGET IT”

I WAS SHOUTING THE SAME THING. LIKE COME THE FUCK ON GUYS, DON’T START THIS “WEHH I’M SMALL, THAT MEANS I’M TERRIBLE” SHIT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREAKIN TOURNAMENT AFTER EVERYTHING YOU’VE BEEN THROUGH. If your quarterback/captain/drill sergeant gives zero fucks about your height, neither should you. I scored the winning shot in a volleyball tournament in middle school at 4′10″, thank you very much.

I bet the arrogant cuck Light Yagami wishes he was half as clever as this gremlin bastard. He had to have help from a death god to achieve world domination, but Hiruma? Nah man, just give him some used cellphones. Flip phones for that matter. In present day he’d probably be spying on the government worldwide and decimating the Dark Web as a hobby.

- Bouncy Kurita - Sena’s classic “Aw man I can’t do this. Oh wait I can do this, I just have to realize I can do this then Sonic the Hedgehog mode activates” - Total continuity break with the Tokyo Tower. Oh well it was still cool to see them put in basically the entire Hell Tower chapter in the end credits - Yes the voice changes are a bit odd, but they’re not that bad. - except Hiruma. That deeper voice just isn’t as fitting to his character and the VA kind of went a bit too comical with his craziness - Overall, definitely worth a watch! Just prepared to be weirded out by Sena and Kurita’s squeaky voices and Hiruma’s “YA-HA” sounding like a strangled rooster.

And yea, I just didn’t want to spoil the surprise. But then I keep forgetting this OVA is like FOURTEEN YEARS OLD But yeah, Hiruma trolling the hell out of asshole adults is always cathartic x)
