i recently started listening to a dnd podcast despite knowing nothing about dnd and now i’m obsessed (if anyone wants to check it out it’s called tingles and dragons and it’s rlly good)

i have 32 carefully curated spotify playlists, the longest of which has 3,043 songs, and all of which i’m very proud of

i’ve never had tacos, and before anyone tries to quote this at me, don’t worry i think about it daily

I have a little y-shaped scar on the bottom of my nose - which is from a rhinoplasty surgery to remove a dermoid cyst from my forehead when I was 4 years old!

I have appeared on TV here in New Zealand 6 times! (in 2007 when I got to tour the ocean liner Queen Mary 2; in 2014 in the background of a karate episode for a children’s show; in 2017 & 2018 for the We Are One Concerts for Autism; in 2019 for the ‘They Are Us’ benefit song to support the victims & families of the Christchurch mosque massacre; and in 2020 for a segment on creatives in lockdown)

If I wasn’t a musician or composer my next passion would probably be urban design & transport planning. 

Even though it’s impractical and would put me in a less than ideal workplace environment for my migraines, I’ve always wanted to be a forest ranger (and still do, deep down)

I spent a summer as a cemetery worker mowing the lawns and digging, burying, sinking, and covering graves

My plants have names that are puns of some of the great 20th-century composers (Vaughan Williams, Stravinsky, Schoenberg)

1.) I have a published and very academic paper over Brahms’s op 91 where the closing paragraph is literally just a bunch of puns strewn about

2.) I didn’t get diagnosed with dyslexia, adhd, and anxiety until college so the last couple of years have been wild.

3.) My senior voice recital is on Friday, the 13th of November because I thought it would be funny

1) if i weren’t a musician, i would probably want to study orthopedics or hematology

2) i self-published my first piece of music recently!! it’s on sheet music press :) it’s a short vocal solo based on a christina rossetti poem

3) i have a scar on the back of my head from when i got a concussion during band 2 years ago

3) i love languages! i have been learning spanish for several months now but i have tried french and german and japanese in the past :)

1. I love mountains, I think they are the most beautiful thing in nature to behold and I can / have stared at them for hours.

2. My dream subject to teach is music history - specifically from 1830 to 1930. That way we get from Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique to Ravel’s Bolero.
