You mention that you're not sure if you're supposed to be reaching out to other iterators, what do you mean by that? Is there some reason you shouldn't? Has your local senior disallowed such a thing?

The only things that I can think of that would even have the authority to disallow your actions in such a way are either an administrator or a group senior, and there's not exactly a surplus of administrators nowadays...
What scenario could there possibly be that would warrant such action?! Such limits would frankly be bordering on an abuse of power!

I suppose our groups may have spoken about such things differently.
My group, along with many of the groups surrounding it, were very particular of how we spoke of what couldn't or shouldn't be done. There were those of us that were always testing the bounds of our restrictions, much to the frustrations of others. It was a topic of much argued and heated debate.
I suppose I reacted in such a way because I have seen such abuse of seniority privilege before.

While your friend has a right to their privacy, it is all to common a case that an iterator goes radio silent never to be heard from again. If you truly feel they may be in danger, then as their friend it is your duty to care for them. I'm sure sending an overseer to check up on them won't do much harm, so long as you don't start spreading gossip about it or anything.
in the case that your friend really is just busy, you should apologize to them for the breach of privacy, but if you believe there is a chance they are in danger then the sooner you get in contact with them the better.
