Chrom was feeling a distinct discomfort, wandering around the laundry area of the Officer’s Academy. Much to his own dismay, Chrom had encountered a sort of laundry mishap; his own choice of outfit misplaced in exchange for another’s. Though, luckily, based on the outfit Chrom currently wore, he at least knew that whoever had his clothes was someone he was acquainted with.
Of course, he wished that he didn’t have to find out that Corrin was attending the Officer’s Academy via this stupid mishap, but beggars couldn’t be choosers. Chrom sighs as he continues looking for them; surely he would catch a glimpse of his own cape fluttering through the halls. At the very least, Chrom was hopeful that he could get his own shoes back. Being barefoot was awful.
As he wanders, Chrom finds his way outside; the discomfort in his lack of shoes causes him to sigh again, but that was fine. Maybe Corrin would be willing to give Chrom his shoes, after all Chrom never remembered Corrin ever wearing shoes of any kind when they briefly fought together. ‘How could that be comfortable?’ he thought to himself.
As luck would have it, Chrom spots a figure sporting his own outfit in the distance by the fountain, and Chrom breathes a breath of relief. “Corrin!” He calls out to them, hopeful that they wouldn’t walk away in his outfit before Chrom could catch up. “Wait up! You have my clothes!” Running to catch up, Chrom takes a moment to gather himself. “Gods, man, talk about a reunion… Corrin! Our clothes were swapped! Do you have any idea what may have happened?”
Corrin didn't exactly expect for his laundry to be swapped with someone else's, but he had known instantly when he was handed a different set of clothes than his own. On account of said outfit containing shoes. He's not certain that he even owns a single pair of shoes to accompany any of his wardrobe.
So he sets off, determined to find his belongings and return these clothes to their proper owner. They were a little baggy, but other than that, they still fit reasonably well. Even so, he'd rather they be back with who they belonged to than sticking around with him. They didn't really suit his style anyway.
He's walking about the monastery, boots slung over his shoulder because even if there was a mixup, he'd be damned if he was going to wear these shoes, when he hears someone call out to him. The owner of the clothes maybe? He could only hope.
He turns quickly, a polite smile across his face as he nods a hello to the man talking about... a reunion? He doesn't look familiar, but maybe... nah, that didn't sound right at all.
"Um... do I know you?" Oh, darn, that sounds so rude, maybe he should start with something a little more polite. This man seems to know him at least. "Er, sorry! But nope! Got no idea what happened! I'm glad you found me though, because I was starting to trip over your pants."
[ CHOCOLATE ] - Stefanelli's has partnered with the monastery to make the most of the supplies left in excess of their workshops earlier in the year by offering packages of sweet chocolates for attendees. The offerings appear generous... that is, until you open your box to find it only half full.
"Corrin-sama, how are you enjoying the ball?" Tsubaki approaches, then bows in the prince's presence. One he rises, he presents forth his offering: a box of Stefanelli's chocolates. "If you need a moment's worth of respite, simply call upon me! For now, I insist that you take these."
Though the inside was half-filled, Tsubaki acted quick on instinct. He's decorated the inside with pink tulip petals and purple orchids in the absence of four chocolates. The remaining batch resting upon silk cloth he'd quietly cut from excess tablecloth in the storage, then padded the inside of the box with.
As he gives Corrin the box of chocolates, then a tulip from his bouquet, he also wordlessly sneaks forth a final gift— white dress shoes.
So many people that he knew were finding him at the monastery these days! But he certainly hadn't expected to see Tsubaki of all people here. Ah, well, it was hard to be mad with someone so reliable, and when he was giving him gifts too!
"You're too kind, Tsubaki," The young king laughs out, carefully taking the box as well as delicately accepting the flower from Tsubaki's bouquet as he flounders for his own.
"Here, take this in return!" He offers one of the lilies from his bouquet after he manages to get one from in between all the stuff in his hands, smiling brightly, "I'd hate for you to give me so much and me have nothing to give you."
He almost doesn't notice the final gift being snuck in. Almost. His smile quickly drops and then resurfaces because he doesn't want to seem like a complete asshole. But really... did Tsubaki think this was funny? Come on now, everyone knew that he hated wearing shoes!
[ CORN ] - A new strain of corn has been bred in Bergliez with a curious trait—it pops when exposed to heat, becoming light and fluffy! Help yourself to a bag; it’s a little bland on its own, but you get the feeling you could find something to spice it up.
"Lord Corrin! Look!"
Azama excitedly bounds to stand before him, bowl in hand. "What a curious treat, don't you think? They've popped the corn! I've been wracking my head trying to think of what seasoning from home might suit to give it just a bit more pizzazz..."
He holds the bowl up.
"Try one! Tell me what you think, really and truly."
"Hello Azama," Corrin shoots a fond smile in the man's direction, though he is not actually terribly fond of him. But it was better to be nice than it was to be rude to him. Who knew what he was capable of?
Corrin stares at the treat offered to him suspiciously. Seasoning... he's a bit scared what that could mean when it was coming from Azama. Still... again, he doesn't want to be rude...
"Um... before I do..." He laughs nervously, "Azama, what exactly did you put in this?"
A familiar flutter of blond hair catches his eye as he refamiliarizes himself with the layout of the monastery, and he can't help but to jump a little in excitement. Kamui quickly runs after it, sweeping the boy up into his arms immediately.
"Leo! You're here!" If he had a tail in his current form, it would be wagging right now, "Oh I've missed you so much, baby brother!"
The pleased smile on Leo's face turns into a breathless wince as he's swept up into a hug by his older brother. His face flushes full scarlet, glancing around furtively for any witnesses. "C-Corrin! Please! L-Let me down..."
The prince clears his throat, unable to deny his beloved brother's unabashed excitement, in spite of his own mortification. Goodness, they're strong. "I'm full well excited to see you too, big brother, but I'm not a child anymore... I prefer both feet on the ground, as it were."
In spite of his attempt to scold, Leo can't help but smile fondly. "...I missed you too. I must have the devil's own luck, reuniting with you here — I heard you'd left the monastery before my arrival, but here you are, hale and whole!"
Leo breathes a sigh of relief as his boots touch earth again, but there's a smile crinkling his eyes, even as he ducks his head and waves off the extra hair-ruffling. Yes, even as he clears his throat and fixes his hairband, he can't help but smile, because he likes it when Corrin's affection towards him overcomes their fear of offending him, even if he'd swear up and down to the contrary.
Oh, he's so happy to see Corrin. Their presence alone lifts his spirits in a way that Leo struggles to describe, in spite of all his eloquence.
"Well, of course I'm going to choose the former," the blonde prince puts in. "How could I not? Now that our home is at peace, I hope we can spend more time together than ever. I say we've more than earned it!"
"Good boy!" Corrin laughs, reaching over to ruffle his sweet little brother's hair. His little brother is so cute, even if he's grumpy all the time. Come to think of it, both of them are like that. Funny how things worked out in the world sometimes. Was Corrin just destined to be an overzealous big brother to sweet and grumpy little brothers?
"We certainly have." He smiles, though this one is a little sadder, not quite reaching his eyes. He didn't have to choose between his siblings, but he still had lost many people during that time. Of course, he had gained plenty as well. His beloved daughter first and foremost among them. "I can tell you about all the cute things Kana did while I was home!"
He misses her already, but he couldn't have brought her along in good conscience. Not if there was a chance of even a hint of danger. She was still so young, after all.

The cheer... was both comfortably warm and scaldingly hot at the same time. It told her nothing of which Corrin she was facing. With a frayed sort of smile, she gestured to the chair opposite to her, inviting her brother to sit down. Share tea with her. Not be standing higher than her in a perceived stronger position— Hinoka remembered Princess Camilla's axe resting against her throat. Which Corrin would hurt more...? The one who had betrayed her? Or a Corrin who knew nothing of that betrayal...?
"It is good to see you as well," she replied, perhaps a little carefully. She set her cup down and tugged at the hem of her sleeve. "Will you join me for tea?"
Something safe, she could only hope. Hinoka loved her brother dearly, but she couldn't so easily chase away the wounds. Even if she had learned in the end the intentions behind the whole campaign. The price to reveal King Garon was too high.
Still, this was her beloved younger. She... didn’t want to loose this connection.
"Of course!" Corrin chirps, immediately moving to sit beside her. He can't help but to wonder what that pain in her eyes is. He... hasn't ever seen such a distinct sorrow on Hinoka before, it feels odd to even notice. He does not want her to feel sorrow, not if he can prevent it.
And if sitting down and having a cup of tea or two would help her feel a little happier, then he would sit here all day if he had to. Anything for the people that he loved most in this world.
"It feels like it's been forever," He can't know how long it has been since she has last seen him, but he remembers it being some time for him since he had last been able to see his Hoshidan siblings. Being the ruler of a kingdom - and a loving father to his darling baby daughter - made him a very busy man after all.
[ CORN ] - A new strain of corn has been bred in Bergliez with a curious trait—it pops when exposed to heat, becoming light and fluffy! Help yourself to a bag; it’s a little bland on its own, but you get the feeling you could find something to spice it up.
"Big sister!" Corrin smiles happily at Camilla when he sees her approaching, tempted to fling himself at her for a hug before she can do so herself. But that can't possibly be that good of a look to represent his nation tonight. So instead he settles for the brightest smile he can muster in her direction.
He glances towards her hands, where she holds a bag of popped corn. He points at it, laughing gently, "Is that for me? You're so kind, sister."
He's heard whispers about that it's a little bland though, perhaps he should find something to put on it.
"My wise and loving older sister wouldn't happen to have any recommendations for toppings; would she?"
Somehow this is Corrin's first time attending Garreg Mach's ball, so he's going to make the most of it! He will be having fun dancing and hanging out with his friends and family. Don't be shy to say hello to him!

One might think that the worst thing about popping up somewhere new ( for the third time!!! ) would be feeling isolated in unfamiliar territory. While that may suck, it's not the worst thing.. no, the absolutely most unbearable part of being relocated is all the fashion trends she has to catch up on! Seriously, how is a girl supposed to be on the top of her game ( as she always is! ) if she is constantly thrown for a whirl every time to learn the ins-and-outs? It's so exhausting! Don't even get her started on hair styles--
The main thing that makes this time around at least tolerable is that a friendly face is by her side coin bag and all. She probably should be a little more freaked out that someone else is also somewhere new ( and that could possibly out her "secret" [ secret to most ] ), but she honestly can't complain. Misery loves company.. or whatever. It's not like she'd be lonely! She is perfectly capable of making new friends! It'd be super easy!
❛ Just so you know.. ❜
The redhead starts with a slight huff, lips quirked ever so slightly at the edges- softening the intent into something far more playful.
❛ If you try to get me to wear something ridiculous
like you've done before in your little castle grounds,
you will live to regret it by facing my wrath. ❜
Despite her "threat", she still tugs Corrin along by the wrist into the nearest shop she can see that has all kinds of clothing on display in the window before they can enter. Excitement is easily seen as the lass all but skips over to wracks of dresses and blouses, scarlet eyes scanning high and low to search for- what she hopes will be- a stunning new look.
❛ You do know what the ladies like around here, right? ❜
who are you again? and what are you doing here @duskofendflame?
"Aw come on, those outfits were cute!" Making everyone wear silly hats had to lighten up the vibe in the middle of war a little; didn't it? He was just... he just needed something other than the pain and horror to focus on. Small lights in the darkness of war. "Don't worry. It won't happen again. We'll get you something much nicer!"
He smiles as kindly as he can at Selena, though he knows she probably only cares about the gold in his coin purse. She's not dragging him around for any other reason than to use his money. He doubts she would have even bothered with him otherwise.
Oh well! He's more than happy to spend time with a friend, no matter their ulterior motives.
"Huh? Me? Um... I'm not sure I know all that much about what women like?" Why is he of all people expected to know that? Just look at what he wore on a daily basis and ask him that again. He's not even sure he'd be able to dress Kana properly if she wanted to dress up all girly, "I'll still do my best! I can at least tell you what does and doesn't look good on you!"
Despite the little knowledge about the past events, Sakura was aware of the terrible situation in Gronder Field: despite the ending of the conflict, the terrains there seemingly were under siege and no one was sure regarding the cause of the smoke around the area, but one thing was for sure –they needed help and anyone who could give a hand, was merrily accepted in the battleground, especially in order to cease the smoke in the area.
So, as soon as she heard of the call of help, the petite priestess couldn’t help but rush to the scene to provide assistance in the way that was most convenient for her: with healing magic! She was very keen on Faith spells, but she also had some useful magic that could help putting out the danger without much effort, even though she perfectly knew that they also needed to actually understand the real threat behind that smoke.
With that in mind and with much hope in chest, she headed to the battleground and as soon as she set foot inside, a pleasant surprise made the petite priestess almost flinched in place, at the sight of him in the middle of the field.
“Corrin..?!” she sounded a bit surprised and incredulous, she thought he left the monastery, but seeing him back again made her heart skipped a little bit. “You’re here..!” she exclaimed as she quickly walked towards him, hands reaching for his to greet and to ascertain in was truly him, in the flesh. “Are you here to help as well?” she asked, wondering why his brother found himself in such situation, but aside from that, she was warmly happy to see him well, after all.
“This is not exactly the way I hope to meet you once again, but.. we can make ourselves useful to make this situation safe and sound!” she waited for him to reply, eager to know what was going on inside his mind and heart.
Corrin wasn't exactly... well versed in magic. Not as much as his Nohrian siblings at least. He got the gist of some basic things, but he certainly wouldn't dare to call himself an expert. He stares out idly over the burning fields, unsure of how to handle this. If there were enough water nearby, maybe he could do something about it easier, but nothing surrounds the area but open fields
A familiar voice jolts him out of his thoughts, the young king quickly spinning on his heel to allow Sakura to grab him. He missed all of his family terribly whenever he was away from them, but both of his darling younger sisters seemed to sting the most to be apart from.
"Hello Sakura, I'm glad to still see you here," He didn't think that he had left for that long, but perhaps that didn't seem to be the case. Ah well. He had done what he needed to do back home, and he was back now! Didn't matter too much as long as he was here.
"It certainly isn't the best situation," He sighs, looking back towards the burning fields, "But I'm sure we can figure something out if we work together!"

"Oh come on, let your big brother spoil you a little!" Corrin laughs, though he abides by Leo's wishes and puts the younger prince down. Of course, he doesn't get away without a hair ruffle though. Corrin couldn't let him off that easily; now could he?
He understands though, that Leo does not want to be treated like a child. Nor does he. They are grown now, even if there were certain people who would always baby them and spoil them without end like they were the children that they had once known.
"I did leave, for a while," There were things he had to check on, to make sure that they were running smoothly, that everything would be fine were he to leave again. And he had wanted to make sure his beloved daughter was doing alright as well. (Of course.)
"But I'm here now! And so are you! Which means we can spend time together as often or as little as we like!"
It was interesting, the selection of tea that was offered in the markets here. Today, Hinoka had chosen a more herbal blend, something that came highly recommended to her, angel tea or something. Honestly, Hinoka had already forgotten, but the tea tasted nice. It wasn't what she would normally go for, but it was good. Being able to sit down and relax for a moment too was also nice.
Breathing in, the Queen closed her eyes and just became Hinoka. No titles, no officials, no masks.... just Hinoka. Powerless Hinoka, who couldn't even protect a country, let alone pretend that she was in anyway suitable to be that country's ruler. She sighed, sipped her tea and then opened her eyes. That's when she noticed someone had appeared next to her.
Familiar.
"Corrin...?" she asked, surprised. A little bit weary. Gods she hated that weariness. "You're also here?"
After meeting people she thought were dead, some of them still technically were, the ones she met here were some other timeline of events. Where she wasn't Queen. Where her brothers survived. Where Corrin chose differently. Which Corrin was this.....?
Corrin had been going about his day as per usual, walking through the gardens and admiring nature. He was pleased to be back at the monastery, the gentle nip of fall air biting at his pointed ears. His bare feet pad softly across the grass as he hums a tune to himself.
He pauses as his eye catches on a familiar shock of red hair, smiling to himself. It wasn't odd to see people who were familiar to him here, and he can't be anything but glad to see one of his beloved siblings!
Though... she seems different somehow. Like there isn't a light that quite reaches her eyes anymore. Not like the Hinoka he knew. This version of his elder Hoshidan sister seemed tired. Worn from time and the war.
"Hinoka!" He still greets her cheerfully, wondering if that's what she might need right now, "It's so wonderful to see you big sister, I've missed you terribly."
write about how our muses could connect with each other! ex. what does your muse like to do that other people would be involved in? do they have interests that other people might share?
Honestly Corrin is very social, so he has no fear in just walking up to people he thinks look interesting and talking to them.
But he does have actual hobbies. For one, I imagine he's at the training ground quite a bit when he's not teaching, because he does constantly want to be able to improve on his skills! There is no point in teaching when he is not growing as well.
He's also a fairly big reader! Though you wouldn't expect it by looking at him, his late nights are often spent curled up in bed with a book that interested him. He wasn't allowed out of the Northern Fortress except on rare occasions, so he often read as a child to pass the time and to have some semblance of an "outside" world, a hobby that has continued into his adulthood. He's always happy to take recommendations as well! In fact, please share!
2. PLATONIC
Write about your muse and their concept of friendship. Ex. how is your muse like with friends? Do they make friends easily or do they find it difficult to connect with others?
Corrin makes friends very easily! Unless you immediately give him bad vibes or somehow tick him off (this is very hard to do with only one interaction to base his impression on, and he's very trusting anyway so it's just hard to do in general), he'll probably consider you a friend very quickly!
And his friends are as dear to him as his family, he would do anything to protect a dear friend. Would even kill for them without hesitation, especially if they are actually in danger.
He values his friends greatly, and honestly, you just can't go wrong if he considers you a friend. Please be his friend he loves having friends, wahoo!
3. ANTAGONISTIC
Write about your muse and the conflicts they have with other people. Ex: who are they on bad terms with, what kind of people do they not get along well with, how do they act around people they don’t like
God forbid if you have somehow pissed off this man, or worse, made an enemy out of him.
4. ROMANTIC
Write about your muse and their relationship with romance. Ex. are they searching for love or not interested in it in the slightest, what’s their dating history like, how do they act around crushes, how would they treat their partner if they were in a relationship.
As we all know, Corrin in TOA is married, though for now it is unspecified as to who. (Please contact me Corrin's spouse. Please please please please please please please.)
He loves his spouse very much though :triumph: even if they are not here at the academy right now. Constantly sends them letters just as much he writes his dearest most beloved Kanabean.
Honestly his romantic relationship would just be a friendship but x10 and now you are part of his family and he will kill for you even more. Very loving and doting <3

at first, none of the soldiers speak up. they talk in whispers amongst each other, unsure how best to answer the question. what did a "general approach" entail? what was there that two men could teach? and one of them looked to be a butler---why on earth was a butler here?
one finds the courage, after a little while, to answer proper. "er... we suppose startin' off with general tips couldn't hurt...," he mumbles out sheepishly. he draws back quickly when dwyer throws his armfuls of weapons to the ground, straightening his back and adopting a sharp mien.
"if that's what you wanna do," he begins, voice strict and straight, "then pick up a weapon. any one's fine. i'll beat you around with my own until you figure it out." that was how his training style worked, anyways: get the stuffing knocked out of you until you adapt. surely this was a fine way to instruct others. "and don't worry; i won't give anything less than my best."
Corrin butts in with a strained smile across his face, "You uh... don't have to do that. A normal training regimen will do." Was that how Jakob had trained Dwyer? No wonder he seemed... more likely to be lazy and tired in the present day. Corrin couldn't remember his own trainer - Gunter - ever treating him like that; but perhaps he'd had it easier because he was a prince? His memories from back then are covered in a hazy fog anyway, perhaps he is just remembering wrong.
"Dwyer," he says quietly to the young butler, "look at them, they've barely recieved any sort of training at all. They won't stand up to a test like that."
He grips the hilt of Yato ever present at his side, knuckles turning white as his fingers tensed against it with worry.
"Um... apologies if this sounds rude but: I don't really want the shit kicked out of me," One of the soldiers pipes up with a raised hand. A few others nod along in agreement, milling about with a certain uncertaintity.
"At least pick up a weapon," Corrin says. That was why they had borught all of them anyway. These soldiers might as well use them even if they - and Corrin - didn't agree with Dwyer's training methods, "We'll... figure something out." Perhaps drawing on what he could remember of Gunter's lessons could work? Would that still be too harsh? Aahghghghghghg who knew!

The attack ends, and the bandits are driven out. Duessel does not feel any better for it -- not truly, not when so much has been lost.
But the two of them have stopped it from becoming absolute chaos. They've saved enough so that there is something to rebuild. That alone is something to be proud of, isn't it?
"It is what's right," he agrees, and immediately he surveys the wreckage. There are homes destroyed, people displaced, and goods stolen. He sighs, he does not know where to start -- there is too much that needs to be done.
"We should first help those who are hurt. Direct them to the healers. And then, you and I can get to work."
"Of course!" Corrin darts around the small village, finding those that are wounded, offering a shoulder to lean on so they will not have to stumble their way towards the nearest healer on broken bones. They thank him profusely, and he quickly returns to Duessel's side, ready and eager to help.
It's saddening, how much destruction has overtaken this poor little village, and Corrin feels a tear spring to his eyes as he stares at the nearest ruined house. How sad, that bandits thought this a worthy expenditure. To destroy the homes of mere villagers was an unforgivable act!
"Let us begin at once, Sir Duessel! I don't wish for these folks to suffer any further! Let's see..." He glances around the area, trying to find any materials that make work to begin fixing the houses. Worse come to worse, he was more than willing to make a few boards himself, even if he never had before, "Ah! There's some wood over there!"
iago can't help the smile that forms on his face at corrin's outburst. there's something gratifying in the way the same effect carries over, no matter how much time passes, no matter what discrepancies exist between the corrin standing before him and the corrin he had once faced.
some things are consistent, and so he cannot help but smile.
he spreads his arms wide, dipping low with a flourish in a mocking bow. there's no genuine deference here, of course, but he plays at it.
"who says i don't mean them? poor lord corrin, so uncertain of his own position that he doubts the words of a servant of his house..."
the faux concern in his voice is, he hopes, noticeable. "it's amusing, that you think my existence was tied to your father's." it was, once, but he does not say it. "i have shifted my gaze toward new ambitions."
“You’re not my servant,” Corrin sputters out, unsure of what else he is able to say. He can’t remember Iago coming to the Northern Fortress often, if he ever had at all during Corrin’s stay there, “I think we both know that. And I’m not as dumb as I used to be, I can tell falsities in one’s tone when I hear them.”
The very sight of Iago’s face remaining in his presence makes the young kings stomach turn sickeningly and he turns away quickly, not allowing the mage the pleasure of seeing him squirm.
“Not my… father. I don’t know why I called him that, I shouldn’t have. I never should have,” He pauses in thought. He had never belonged in Nohr, nor for being different from them, but because of the sole reason that it was not where he was meant to be, “I just don’t want you causing trouble for Fodlan and the students with your schemes. You should watch yourself.”
