"I’d starve without you, sweetheart.

We going to a movie after? Where’s my pre-date flowers, hm?”

"I'll get them for you after, baby, but you get this now to  make up for it."

"Whatever — okay." Jane moved ahead of him and walked to the car, barely going slow enough for him to keep up. She was determined.

                   And there was so much work to do.

"You sure know how to take care of me, darling. Sounds like a celebration is in order, hm?

Let’s hope your promise holds up.”

"Oh God, okay you can stop with that. I’m not a Goddess.” Jane gave him a light swat with her hand and motioned for him to go first, reaching out to grab her jacket.

"Hey — I agreed to coffee. But if they have sandwiches there, then okay.”

         Because passing up free food wasn’t probably          smart when you were a girl that often forgot to eat.

"I hadn’t said yes yet, but I guess…fine. Coffee sounds fantastic. Better buy a croissant too.”

"You are ridiculously persistent. I’ve got a lot to  do, though — how far away is this cafe?”

"Don’t I know. Did that business pay off like we were hoping? Or is there any definite word yet?

You bruise the ego, I whine. You should know this by now.”

"Still can’t figure out why you didn’t. Considering how successful last year’s was.

You act like that’s such a loss. I’m hurt, Elliot.”

"Uh huh — well, if I’m such a goddess, and you my servant —” Which sounded weird as crap to say, “—maybe you should get me a cup of coffee. Cause I’m exhausted, and I have a ton of work to do still.”

"You’re just jealous because my costumes get me laid faster than yours do. One of these years you’ll learn to follow my lead, mate."

"You act like I’m some sort of Goddess, Elliot - which is absurd. There’s nothing that special about me.” She waved him off gently, though Jane couldn’t seem to stop smiling.

"Well, you’re in quite the good mood this morning."  Jane was smiling at him, though, glad for the compliment,  because it had been a rather stressful day. “Thank you,  Elliot. I appreciate it.”
