The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.
Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.
No carb, engine don’t start. No protein, engine dies out fast.
Easy carb add on:
Cookie
Fruit (canned or fresh)
Chips
Piece of bread
Popcorn
Crackers
Easy protein add on:
Nuts
Spoonful of nut butter
Cheese
Roasted chickpea snacks
Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
Small canned sausages or similar
Sugar in there.
I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.
girl whos still sad they made sword kirby's iconic ability that shows up first in every game and gets featured so prominently, and not the far more interesting and aesthetically well-suited parasol
something they don’t tell you about being autistic is that every character you write WILL end up autistic/autistic-coded whether you like it or not
same goes for being aromantic/asexual. every character WILL come out at least a little aspec
if you reblog this and purposefully remove the second addition i Will block you.

look at my awesome computer setup!
AWESOME this is so swag
this is not a gotcha question, i'm just curious—your FAQ states that you're not ok with reuploads of your videos elsewhere (which is a very reasonable stance to have!). in your vision of copyright abolition, would this be legal and just something you would prefer people not do, or banned in some other way?
I actually recently clarified that part of the faq to specify that even though it's something I don't like I also don't want people to think me not liking something should stop them
I've pretty much always said that my stance on people doing things with my work is that I don't want people to ask me for permission but I do want people to show me what they've done after they've posted it so I can see it. and almost nobody ever actually follows these instructions
for your consideration
this is so awesome
one aspect of chiptune music that I think is underdiscussed is that some 20th century game consoles could only update what the sound chip outputs at a rate very close to once per frame, which meant that there was a fundamental link between tempo and rhythm that you don't really get in anything else
like, if you want to make music with both triplets and sixteenth notes for a sound chip that can only change what note it's playing every sixtieth of a second, then your options for tempo are (comprehensive!*) 50 bpm, 60 bpm, 75 bpm, 100 bpm, 150 bpm, and 300 bpm. anything else is literally impossible unless you're fine with it being really really slow
in cave story's Organya music format, the tempo of a piece is set by providing an integer number of milliseconds between steps, and you also need to set the number of steps per beat. the fact that the wait time must be an integer means that all possible BPMs for a piece with both eight-note triplets and sixteenth notes must satisfy (60000 / (12 * n)), aka (5000 / n), where n is a positive integer.
this is certainly more flexible than on platforms with a fixed delay between notes, but it does have its own quirks. you end up with a lot of quirky looking tempos due to the fractional nature of the calculation
"YOU THERE, BOY! Why are you doing that?"
"Why, it's because it's January 7th and Jay Eazy ain't dropped yet, sir!"
"January 7th! Then don't worry, you haven't missed it! Do you know the shawty next door?"
"Why, the one who's cute, and her circle too?"
"A book smart boy! A money smart boy! Makes you more intelligent! Go and get her and tell her to bring a friend! Come back in less than five minutes, and I'll let you slide with your dog like you're Mega Man!"

there was a great study a few years that went into the whole "ppl online are bigger jerks than irl cuz theres a virtual wall and no repercussions" and the researchers were expecting to see that be the case but it turns out that people who were really angry or argumentative online were also found to just be assholes in person and people who were pretty patient and nice online were found to be patient and nice in real person as well
and it just debunked that whole cynical idea that people will naturally be mean if theres no punishment for it
source another source
the researchers found that being online didnt make people more hostile, but that being online allowed already hostile people to dominate forum conversations, and the less aggressive people were much less likely to reply or engage, ending in just the aggressive people bickering at eachother
I salute the flag.
alright I'm almost finished Project Hail Mary, and I have to say, I don't get why people are shipping the guy with Markiplier when he's already in a perfectly healthy queer-platonic relationship with the alien spider made of rocks
that's insane. we need to change this
[Image ID: Tumblr reply from theGrandMarsh reading: i hear tell that people are often more attracted to other humans than they are to alien rocks, and that imagining two attractive humans in a relationship fulfills them emotionally or sexually /End ID]
The reason most indie novels are written like the author is terrified of doing something wrong is because the overwhelming majority of indie novelists get their start by networking in the violent panopticon of the social media indie publishing community, which favours the people who are able to win at the social policing game.
Okay so this comment got me googling because I hadn't heard of Isabel Fall
And if you also hadn't heard of her go read this because uhh... Holy Shit
I had heard of the whole messed up situation with this story, but I hadn't ever read the synopsis of the story before, and WOW
This story sounds like it could have been a brilliant exploration of gender and warfare and violence but instead it was attacked by people who didn't know how to confront a story that made them uncomfortable, and the author faced horrible consequences.
It's so important to be able to deal with stories that give you uncomfortable feelings in other ways than just attacking it. Being shown new perspectives sometimes has feelings of discomfort because it's an unfamiliar way of seeing the world.

legalize copyright infringement
to be clear this is a fully sincere political belief that I have. I am pro copyright infringement and in fact anti "asking for permission to make derivative art"
a few people in the notes seem to be under the impression that this is a stance that requires caveats. so just so we're all on the same page: no exceptions. "stealing art" (copying existing works for personal gain) is a good thing.
