Never once had the little chores and duties Luka took care of been taken lightly, or been unnoticed by Alm. Quite honestly, the lord appreciated them, and thought that the noble had his hands rather full. Too often, to boot. So of course, he couldn’t just let it go on by without lending some aid of his own. Taking responsibility for some of it himself, however, he did realize how hard some of the work could be. Not that he was going to back out. They would do this together.
It wasn’t like Alm had never done any hard work before this. Living in a small town, he had some things he had to help with. It was nothing unheard of, or minded doing- it was a little refreshing, in all actuality.
“To think you do all of this so frequently,”
“it’s just.. a lot to take in, wow.
You should let others help you more often, Luka -
this seems like a lot for just you.
Not that I don’t trust you with it.”
⚜ | Admittedly, Luka was quietly startled by his friend’s sudden appearance. He was a preoccupied by duties, of course.
❝ Alm, ❞ he started, allowing himself room to adjust into the conversation, ❝ …… Is that so ? Well, it’s something I’ve grown accustomed to. ❞
Despite his obedience to work, it wasn’t something he was fond of. In fact, what he wanted and what he had to do were two entirely different concepts but a few members of the Deliverance had assumed Luka to be someone who was married to his job, eager to please others, but that truly wasn’t the case at all. Time off to rest was something he always looked forward to, the usual would be relaxing in solitude, lost in the stories of books.
After placing a crate of oranges back onto a wagon, he gave Alm his full attention. At least he wasn’t in the middle of breaking up a heated dispute between fellow soldiers. That seemed to be happening a bit more frequently.
❝ I think you’re right, ❞ he admitted after sighing through a growing fatique, ❝ help would be appreciated once in a while. Are you here to lend a hand ? ❞
“Is it? It’s just… so hard to imagine you any different. You seem to have this knack to perfect your skills and duties,” Lips remained their form, continuing to smile at the knight. There was something about how he put his words forward that suggested that perhaps he wasn’t always this way, or that the job was something that required some getting used to. Eyes are fixated on Luka’s face, as if they might hold some kind of answer for him. This became harder as he moved to lift a crate of oranges, turned away from him. It wasn’t too soon after, however, that he spoke up again.
He blinked at the redhead, and what seemed like exhaustion overflowing his features. “Yeah, that’s right. Seems like quite a bit for one person.”
The teen gives a warm gaze. "So I'd like to take some of the weight off."
