Abbott Elementary did a 'Sinners' Segment for the Actor Awards 😂
you can tell im 30-something because i bought a new brand of toothbrushes and im very pleased with them. toothbrushes generally have the same problem that tennis shoes for instance have in that they're overdesigned and consequently garish and ugly. but this is literally just a single piece of plastic, all one color, with a logo printed on it and white bristles. very tasteful. it's perfect.
Too cute to handle! Absolutely lovely and endearing 😘😘

Just saw someone saying on twitter that mandate is not political enough and shipping two politicians just reduces the genre to teen girls shipping activities instead of a hard hitting political BL.
And while my initial reaction was -“are we even watching the same drama?” I gave it some thought later.
I went back to the history of all political BLs or bromances that I know (and i may have missed some)-
Not me, Shine, Justice in the dark, Spierealm, The first shot, Manner of death, Spare me your mercy, Jack and Joker, The devil Judge and Mandate itself.
And I realised that most of the previous BL dramas were actually using a bottom-up narrative, where the resistance grows organically from grassroots movements or a few individuals to topple the people who are oppressing them.
Mandate is offering us a top-down view of what it is like behind the scenes of individuals running a democracy.
The politics between individuals here is subtle, but make no mistakes, it carries devastating consequences for the many (not to mention the personal costs these individuals have to bear of being at the top, with the power to influence in the first place).
Under neoliberal capitalism and populism which have replaced most governance throughout the world in the largest ever democratic backslide since the pandemic, this is the world Mandate inhabits.
It is a war of words, PR wars, trying to wrest back control from people who think they can change the laws overnight, the fourth pillar of democracy- journalism, containing less and less journalists with an actual spine. Negotiating control with people like them-
Mandate is offering us the behind the scenes of a supposedly functional democracy. Which is new because we haven’t seen this in many BL dramas. And this is why Mandate may not feel particularly political to a lot of the audience who are used to watching political BL dramas of another kind.

What do you mean "MAYBE not YET" Mix? At this point you might as well just say "yes"
How dare you, Joong!

Pre-menstrual depression is always depicted as like "He He! I had a box of icecream bars and cried while watching the Titanic!" But in reality, it's more like, "I'm standing the edge of an abyss. There is nothing good inside of me, I'm filled with rage and desperation."
It's crazy that being told how to deal with that is never a part of anyone's menstrual sex education.
This has already been said in the notes, but if PMS causes extreme depression and even suicidal ideation, that is in fact something that most people do not experience and it can be treated
Like for the majority it really is "oh i'm hungrier and moodier than usual"
^this should be a part of sex education so the point still stands
I went to my doctor after I was walking to work one morning and saw a bus coming and actually took a step to throw myself in front of it before I pulled myself together. Later that day I started bleeding and was literally like someone flipped a switch and I didn't feel suicidal anymore. Which made me feel like I was loosing my mind because who goes from 'I want to throw myself in front of a bus' to 'I'm perfectly fine' just like that? I did some research, I went to the doctor and described my feelings, he looked me in the eye and gently asked what I thought it was, I said I'd read about PMDD and I thought it might be that, he said 'I think so too' and wrote a prescription.
If, before you get your period, you feel furiously angry, suicidal, irritated by every tiny thing to the point you want to murder someone, stuck in a black hole you'll never escape from. If you are experiencing extreme emotions for what seems like no good reason, especially if you get your period and those extreme emotions just go away. You're probably not just PMSing , you may have PMS's feral big sister PMDD and it's treatable.
Also this is something that can develop as you get older. So if you used to get normal PMS but what I wrote above sounds more like your norm now then don't just write it off as regular PMS.

Oh, this sweet man, who has spent his entire life feeling like he had to hide his true self, and that it was never safe to truly be vulnerable with anyone.
Tojo spent his life hiding so many facets of himself, and it's only through his time with Keishi, learning to speak out loud about what he really likes and really enjoys and really feels drawn to, and experiencing only complete acceptance and support, over and over again, that he finally reaches a place where he can be emotionally vulnerable, and talk about his real feelings.
Which then opens the door for Keishi to start to do the same.
It's just such a lovely message, how our kindness and openness and vulnerability will foster the same thing in others, and all those things we so desperately want for ourselves can be found when we give them to others.
Waiting for a series every week - after eternity. I love that feeling! ❤️Also, I can truly relate to Tojo, I am not vocal about who I like, and somehow I have normalised not talking about it- because I feel like people won't care/ it doesn't matter. But I do sit around with friends listening to all their stories and never have a thought about how I don't do that.
