was her saying that she could be a prince if kris wanted her to be her saying that she was genderfluid, or was she saying that to further herself by immediately submitting herself to whatever kris wanted?

was she ‘comfortable’ in her masculinity before any of this happened, just by reading into the subtext a little bit?

and although i doubt anyone who actually believes in these headcanons will try the next one,

why are you headcanoning her as this? why are you believing so hard that ralsei, the character who is commonly portrayed as being forced into a masculine role, who is heavily hinted at being a trans girl, beloved by transfems for encapsulating their feelings, as something that isn’t a trans girl?

like. yeah. they do use they/them now. and they do say they've "never tried being a princess before" that it's in "presentation". but like. ralsei (TO ME) is pretty clearly in the middle of an arc about their identity, theyre willing to put up with being a "prince" (given their sprites when you tell them "nah bro" and reactions to the hat (aka thinly veiled metaphor for repression)) and yet they aren't fully comfortable expressing the part of themselves that rebels from the prophecy (their fire magic) despite wanting to– pretending that their feelings are less significant than the fate of the world(/the prophecy) despite also ("selfishly") wsnting them to (literally everything about them, their room, and the "DO YOU THINK I WANT IT TO BE LIKE THIS!?" dialogue from the end of chapter 5). ralsei's sense of self in deltarune is tied to the prophecy- both in following it amd in breaking it, whilst being afraid of the consequences of doing so- hence why i think they are currently using they/them:

its the 'safest' option to put it bluntly- it gives them the plausible deniability that we so often see them wanting (i.e. only telling an abridged/majorly omitted version of the prophecy, telling half-truths to not technically lie) that allows them to break free from who the prophecy wants them to be without truly accepting who they want to be for themself and potentially causibg the "dire consequences" that they think could come from breaking the prophecy.

they aren't ready to be a princess, though they want to be. i made a post about this already on main- but the pink 'princess dress', i believe, is mentonymous for how ralsei sees girlhood as being freeing- literally having one of the two major 'freedom colors' (pink/yellow) and yet easily discards it due to outside input- the player AND the prophecy. not because they want to but because they believe they have to, for the benefit of someone else- another reinforcement of ralsei's belief that "darkners are meant to serve the lightners" or, more specifically, that ralsei feels they were 'made' to serve others unconditionally, putting their own wishes out of mind. a mentality which is being broken down the more time they spend with susie (also pink & yellow and a girl)‐ and leads to their own 'selfish' desires in ch.3/4/5.

the sense of freedom ralsei seeks doesn't come from rejecting being 'the prince', but embracing being "a princess"– which they feel they cannot do at risk of hurting the world/people they care for.

But Flowery can also be seen as a mirror to Susie, both burning with optimism that they could change fate and defy their Doomed By the Narrative status by just staying optimistic and telling fate to Fuck Off, both stood up to the Roaring Knight in a very similar fashion, both Lightners (… after a fashion) driven by a desire to keep their Dark World existing at any cost, as it has become more than just a ‘Fantasy’ to them, and now feels like a Home, a place they need in order to be with their families/friends and be able to be actually happy.

And Flowery can also be a mirror of Kris, also ‘adopted’ by the Dreemurr family, but living with Asgore rather than with Toriel means he primarily has his side of what happened during the Divorce, Kris is a Human but seem to wish they were a Monster on some level, while Flowery is a Flower aspiring to be a Human, Flowery is a 'Boss' that looks and acts like a traditional JRPG Protagonist while Kris is this JRPG-inspired game's very unconventional protagonist, both do some Shady Stuff behind their loved ones’ back… only we eventually learn that Flowery was keeping Kris away from Asgore for what he honestly thought was the Goatdad’s best interest, while Kris…
