Welcome, Lovro and Ivan 🌠

the switch to animation after lovro lies down in Ivan's drawings, literally entering his world. art has been used as a connection between them and their romance throughout the season - Ivan adding lovro to his self portrait, lovro using the drawing to come out to vito and looking at it when he misses Ivan - and I think it was a nicer touch than a montage.

the drawings kind of fracture to animation before it switches fully, and I feel like that shows lovro's resolve and fear just giving in to the need to find him, especially after the indirect confession.

Ivan literally eroding away was so haunting. he fades to droplets, with a water sound, kind of paralleling how Ivan swam away from lovro in his daydream. water is a place where they can be safe, but without communication and confrontation of reality, they drown.

the switch back at the mural, with lovro now looking down instead of Ivan, shows how their relationship has shifted - lovro needs to reach down and pull Ivan out of his self-doubt.
