World premiere of my short film I wrote and directed "Prison Without Walls"!!!!!! Starring superstar Sinorice Moss & Major Tatum. It's a parallel story of a man's day in prison and a child day in school and how it's a similar experience. I did this piece for my little brother and sister, to show them communication is our best weapon, suppressing our emotions and anger will only lead to an explosion. This film signifies the moment of path we choose, the street life or a righteous path, this decision happens in middle school for most inner city kids. So I flipped the perspective of what if I didn't make it out the street life and I had to tell my own little brother to choose the right path even though all he wants to do is follow in my footsteps. Truly exhilarating moment to show my film on the big screen for 250+ people. Something happens when you show your film on this scale its not even the same film, its no longer yours, it belong to the people. The greatest part of making this film was the response of how it affected others, I had people of all different walks of life white, black, asian, old, young, tell me how they were stirred emotionally and shed tears during the film for the characters of my story. I put my whole heart into this film and so humbled that I have touched others in this capacity. One of the greatest experiences of my life that I will cherish forever. Thank you all for giving me the strength to continue and know i’m on my right path.
