The scene below comes at the end of a climatic showdown. Â A massive explosion has occurred and in its wake Hush sees Batman laying lifeless in the rubble. Â He hurries to clear the debris and hold his friend in his arms. Â the bandages around his head have loosed so that his face can be seen.
âWake up,â he whispered.  âWake up,â he repeated with growing anger in his voice, âYou, youâre Batman.  You canât die, not like that.â  Hush removed Batmanâs cowl and lowered his head.  âI⌠I never wanted this.  All I wanted was for you⌠for everyone to know that Iâm the best, I was always the best ever since we were kids.  You remember that, donât you?  I beat you every time, every time⌠but this?  Iâm⌠so very disappointed,â he lamented.
âI let you win,â Bruce confessed as his eyes slowly opened.
âWha-?â Hush gasped.
âTommy, I was never a dumb kid,â Bruce reminded Hush as he moved out of the manâs arms, âI saw what you went through⌠how your parents treated you, what they did to you.  Part of the reason I wanted you over so often was to get you away from them.  You were the first person that I tried to save, but there wasnât much that I could do.  I knew you needed to win in some way.â
Hush stood with fists clenched tightly. Â âNo, that canât be. Â I would have known,â he rebutted.
Bruce turned away and gave a soft laugh, âOh, it wasnât every time. Â I couldnât touch you to begin with. Â Then you told me your secret; think like the enemy. Â You still won your fair share even then, but I helped enough that it mattered.â
Hush pulled off the last of his bandages, his short red hair practically glowing in the light of the nearby flames. Â Sirens could be heard moving towards their location. Â âWhy tell me this now? Â After all of this time?â he questioned suspiciously.
âI should have told you sooner; talked to you sooner,â he confessed apologetically with a shake of his head, âTommy, when I⌠decided what I wanted to do with my life, I did it for you just as much as I did for myself.  It wasnât right what happened to either of us and I had to do whatever I could to save as many people as possible.  I donât know if I chose the right way or the best way, but I did it for us. We could have done it together, but I hoped that you had moved beyond the past.  I wanted you to be able to live the happy and normal life that I knew I never could.â
Now it was Tommyâs time to laugh, although it was practically just a grunt. Â âQuit being such a martyr,â he spat back. Â âThe Elliots have been crooks and the Waynes have been heroes, super or otherwise, for generations. Â We never had a choice in this. Â The two of us have only been playing songs written for us by others long ago. Â This?â his arms opened wide to point out the destruction around them, âThis is simply a logical crescendo. Â There will always be Elliots, Cobblepots, Waynes, and Kanes. Â We made this city and we are what pumps blood into it day in and day out. Â Gotham would die without us, weâre simply playing a different kind of game now.â
Bruce shook his head with a sigh.  âIâm sorry that I wasnât a better friend to you Tommy.  Iâm sorry that I let you become⌠this monstrosity of who you could have been.  I would have helped you if I knew,â he offered regretfully.
âI would have never have accepted charity,â Tommy said stubbornly.
âI know,â Bruce responded quickly, âMaybe there is nothing I could have done, but I do regret what has become of you. Â Maybe there is still time.â Â He turned to Tommy just in time to stop a scalpel from plunging between his shoulder blades. Â It took all of his strength to keep the small blade from pressing into his chest.
âI think I liked you better when you were dying after all,â Tommy confessed angrily.  His leg bent so that he could kick Bruce away and watch him tumble to the ground.  âHow dare you question my life choices.  Look at you.  You cause more harm than good and youâre too blind to see it.  Youâre right, there is still time⌠for me to fix what youâve done to our city,â he spoke as he drew a pistol and trained it on his friend, âUnfortunately though, youâre not going to be able to see it.â
Bang.
A lightning fast baterrang knocked the pistol off target just as it went off, forcing Tommy to drop the weapon and clutch his hand. Â Bruce rolled back onto his feet and used that momentum to throw a hard punch across his enemies jaw. Â When Tommy turned his head back his friend was gone and The Batman had taken his place once again. Â The two men locked arms, struggling to throw the other to the ground. Â
âYou know I have to take you in for what youâve done,â Batman gritted through his teeth, âIâll vouch for you to get you into Arkham where you can get some help.â
âArkham?â Tommy responded with a laugh, âWith the rest of your little pet lunatics? Â I donât think so. Â And donât think I believe your little story either. Â Youâre just trying to toy with me like you do the rest of them, but it wonât work on me!â Â He won the grapple, tossing Batman over the ledge next to them. Â The Dark Knight caught the edge only for Tommy to quickly slam a boot down on one of his hands. Â âDonât worry, the fall wonât kill you. Â Iâll make sure the bullet gets you first,â he taunted. Â His eyes stayed on his enemy as he reached for the gun, which meant that he didnât notice the loose rubble beneath him. Â The doctor slid off the edge only to be caught by Batman, whose own grip had begun to fail him.
âTommy! Â There is a mini grapple gun in my belt. Â You can save us both!â he pleaded with his former friend.
âSave you?â he laughed again, âIâd rather die.â Â His hands released his friends, making him plunge down into the water below.
Blurry cosplay selfies
I really wish these came out better, but I thought someone may enjoy them anyhow?
My Catman Cosplay!
The mask turned out a bit bigger than I would have liked and the wig was often unruly, but overall I think it turned out pretty good and people responded well to it.Â
Iâm all set with my new costume for NYCC tomorrow! The mask and claws didnât turn out exactly how I wanted and the wig seems like it is going to be annoying, but I think it works!

Sporting my Kingpin ascot at cosplay karaoke last night.
So I made a thing.
This was easily my favorite Christmas present this year; homemade Catman blanket.
Why Feminism matters and why we need to make it better instead of running away form it.
So I wrote out a rather lengthy essay/rant on Facebook a short while ago that had to deal with a video explaining why she doesnât need feminism. Personally, I found the fact that a friend of mine posted it to be disturbing so I donât really want to subject anyone else to it. Most likely others have seen it or could find it if they want. Iâm rewriting it to make sense here and just thought people might appreciate my comments on the matter. Again itâs long, so Iâm going to put it under read more. Thanks for taking the time to look at it.
Here is my review of the last issue of Storm. Iâm really proud of it and sad to see the series end.

And they said I was a long shot,
That Iâm never going to do it, that Iâm bound to fail.
With the odds stacked against me, do the improbable.
Lucky to the end, let me tell you my tale.
I am embarrassingly addicted to to this song about Squirrel Girl...
I just wish these two could be best friends and go on adventures together. It would be the best team up ever.
I donât generally use Wikipedia as a source of sound information but I feel like more people need to know about this. Also if you have Poland syndrome and need someone to talk to, feel free to talk to me. I know itâs definitely affected my self-esteem and self-image and all. So anybody struggling with that, youâre not alone. Also, anyone struggling with anything: you are amazing, someone out there loves you, and I am always here for you (:
It took me until I went to college to actually learn about Polands Syndrome, which effects primarily my left hand. However when I looked for a community for it I mainly found a lot of girls and women that suffered from uneven breasts and body image issues. It was difficult for me as a bitter teenager that hoped to find others that shared my thoughts and feelings to still feel alone even amongst peers.
Iâm much better now of course and I both understand and empathize with women that have their own trouble with our condition. I just want to remind people that Polands does effect different people in different ways and that we need to support each other regardless of how it effects us personally.
Arrow V Daredevil
I have often said that more super hero shows should look to Arrow as a template for creating a successful adaptation to television. Â Arrow managed to reference the source material while still being both palatable and accessible for a main stream audience. Â Sure there is a lot of forced melodrama, but it isn't entirely out of character for Oliver Queen and it's a small price to pay for what we get. Â For the most part Arrow has been able to do their own versions of classic characters without upsetting fans. Â That is aside from the female characters in the show, whom are only there to assist or drive the story of the men in their lives.
With that said Daredevil has managed to take the structure of Arrow's adaptation and take it several steps further. Â There is no melodrama, the women are all different and strong in their own ways, there are even more references to the source material, and the action is even better. Â We'll have to see if it has the same appeal as Arrow to demographics aside from guys that like super heroes, but I'm betting it well. Â That's because it is probably the best live action super hero show made to date. Â While Arrow and Flash may have gotten me more excited at times than Daredevil has I have trouble finding anything to complain about in Daredevil whatsoever.

Hey! Thanks for the reblog and follow back. You have a cool blog.
Thanks! Absolutely love that Captain Marvel shirt of yours :)
No thank you. I decided buying great female comics wasn't enough and set up to get some merchandise. That's the best Carol shirt I could find. (It's really soft too!)
Showing my Carol Corps pride.
In retrospect I realize that I look simply terrible in this picture. Thank you to Kelly Sue and everyone that liked it though!
