no mondays in the cambrian era

write down one good thing about yourself and your day every night before you go to bed—no matter how small or silly. my last two gratitudes were “i am grateful for yoga tutorials on youtube” and “i am grateful for cats yawning.” take photographs of moments where you feel hope, optimism, inspiration, and joy. put them all in an album to look at. save any and all quotes from books, screenshots of movies, messages from friends, cards or letters written to you that move you. go stand outside and look at the leaves in the wind. look at bees sitting in flowers. get your bare feet in some water. find a cool rock and take it home with you. hope and joy and optimism and connection can feel hard to come by when our brains are wired for negativity, overwhelmed by tragedy and violence, disconnected from our bodies—it is important to document, collect, and hold close to your heart every moment that made you feel like you were part of something, you were alive, you were light and free.
