if rivers never question why they are flowing, why should we? do migrating flocks of geese ever question why they feel called to fly down south in the winters? does an ant ever question why it feels so naturally inclined to dig tunnels and march in organized lines? do living things move because they understand where they are going, or because movement itself is life?

when you look at your life through the perspective of your younger self you have to be compromising. would i look into the eyes of my ten-year-old self and tell her such things? would i ask of her to carry the weight of anxiety on bony shoulders? would she care all that much to get dirt under her finger nails? should i ask her to worry this amount? i would tell her to go outside and play, this is what i will do for myself in the present moment. The eyes are one part of your body that never grows nor is reshapen, when i look at myself in the mirror i am the same as i was as i was a firstborn. So i am capable of staying true to myself yet continuously evolving. i will not live a stagnant life, nor much of a serious one.
