BOW DOWN

“One day I’m putting that statement to the test. Emmett plays video games more than anyone I know with the exception of Stiles. Now I know why Drew never wants to play with you.” Since he skipped breakfast Cody was hungry and he was sure if they played anymore games he’d be the target of more yelling.  "Fine. Only because pizza sounds really good right now.“

“I’m hurt that you would accuse me of such corruption. The reason I’m so good is because I would practice relentlessly to defeat Emmett.” He chuckled. Drizzle’s attitude certainly resembled his own. They were both extremely competitive. “I’ll play by myself so you should reconsider your decision. We can put in a different game?”

“No. Not yet, I checked our voicemail at work and when I got home an hour ago.” From Elijah to the continuous failed attempts with Drizzle for the past few years, he was starting to think it wasn’t in God’s plan for him to have kids.  The disappointment was wearing him down. He hated to see Drizzle hurting over it too which is why he tried to remain optimistic. 

Cody kissed Drizzle’s forehead and pulled her close. “He’ll call soon babe and if not then we will call him. Remember he said the chances of success are 30% higher than last time. That’s a good increase.”

“Oh,” she muttered quietly, sadness instantly taking over her features as she let her purse fall down to it’s usual place on the table by the door, taking in a deep breath. They both knew that Cody’s dream was to be a father, and despite his optimism, it was clear to Drizzle that the male was upset about the situation and it was only causing her insides to twist and turn. Allowing herself to be pulled into a hug, she slowly wrapped her arms around him with a sigh.

“Every time I win you say that!” Cody picked up the controller and set it back beside her. “Don’t be a sore loser. Play another game and redeem yourself.”

Cody: As you wish. I'll go to King Tacos and get tamales

Cody: I'll see you soon then

Cody: Should I get anything on my way back? Food, beer, anything?

Drizzle: Good!

Cody: Always

Cody: None! I've been a good boy the past couple of months and went to every class, I deserve a break

Cody: I'm cringing for you.

Cody: I get out of class in a few minutes, I'm considering skipping my afternoon class. Should I?

Drizzle: Glad we're on the same page.
