Another old alternate calling him up. Boy there have been a lot of reunions for him as of late.

Well that was new. Sounds, not ship sounds, but small feet sounds. He was used to things somehow getting on his ship by now though. The spacebride was nice, but it malfunctioned sometimes allowing random transports aboard. Somehow though he knew this one wasn’t dangerous as he decided to see who it was. 

Wasn’t he surprised when he spied a tiny, but familiar looking little sparkling in the distance. His same distinct paintjob, but sporting a cute little spoiler across his back.

And the sounds of Drift fussing at his very young, very mobile, sparkling carry over the comm.

“Don’t touch that!” Drift snapped, and then froze as Flarewing gave him the familiar pouting look. The resemblance to Rodimus was undeniable when the little mechling did that, and it made Drift’s spark surge. Picking up Flarewing, he sat back down at the console.

This wasnt his Drift. The sounds of…sparklings, was it? had filled the comm.

::A few weeks, hmmm?:: He said with a soft chuckle.

::I believe you have th wrong comm, mech. I have not talked to my Drift in….:: Primus, how long? Months? Years? Time passed…oddly…in space.

::I did not mean to upset you, Drift.:: He asked, holding back his questions of ‘ whats wrong’ and ‘ is rodimus ok?’ for a later date, if ever. 

He bounced Flarewing gently on his lap, provoking a loud burst of happy giggles. The mechling's sweet, happy nature had helped buoy Drift's own moods. Hard not to love the little bitlet when he so easily reminded Drift of Rodimus.

There’s a bit of a shocked paused on Teal’s end. Not only can he not believe Drift has been so reckless, unintentionally or otherwise, but there was an illness spreading in certain universes….

Wait! What do you mean you’ve done ‘stupid things’?::

The racer vented deeply, lifting a servo to rub his chest plates. Tucked away safely in his in spark chamber, the sparkling pulsed contentedly, unaware of its carrier’s troubles.

There was a lot to consider. The manner in which Drift carried would determine how to proceed.

::Rodimus returned to the Well. We were so close to bonding, Knock Out. I lost him the day we planned to bond. A rift opened, he was pulled through, and before I could follow, it closed. I threw myself into searching for him.::

::Wing started helping me, he took care of me.:: He vented softly, his servos dropping from his finials. ::I'm alright now, I guess. I'm still an exile, so I don't have much.:: Drift uttered a short, bitter laugh. ::I've been marked as a traitor by both factions, the neutrals hate Cons and Bots... I've been able to get by with trading with some organics, but my funds are running low.::

"I wasn’t carrying when I was exiled. I… agreed to do something for Prowl, because if I didn’t, he was going to strip me of my Autobrand. …I helped smuggle Overlord onto the Lost Light. He wasn’t supposed to escape, no one was supposed to get hurt."

Slag, the ‘cute’ typing was obvious. But it was… Horrible. “It’s still a fragton of slag for you to get through!” Engine revving, still in pointless anger at fate and how his alternate was suffering, Deadlock moved his servo over other’s finial to give some more reassuring taps. Finial taps were always good. He understood, even if he didn’t have a sparkling. The ’Con was lonley…  and kind of envious. Maybe even more than ‘kind of’.

"What isn’t wrong?" He snapped, sarcasm heavy in his tone. It wasn’t so much snapping at his alternate, it was just sheer frustration with his situation. "I’ve lost my home, my rank, my mate… I’m carrying and I have no idea how to care for a sparkling, and I can’t even ask Rodimus for help because he’s dead!" He yelled the last part, plating puffing out again.

"Well, slag, that’s an awful lot for the time period…" That’s just… That was real, utter slag the other caught himself in. Is this what his future looks like? More abandonment?!

When the mech opened his optics again, Deadlock was really close to him. Without thinking too much he reached out and pet at Drift’s shoulder. “Umm… congrats for the sparkling, I guess. Who’s the sire? I mean…” He still couldn’t help himself and thought of Drift like of his guture self whenever he’d met any Drift. “Mean it sucks. And it.,. is very hard.” Was he getting compassionate? Towards himself… Yeah.
