so my coworker just told me about this amazing and pretty neat app called Sweatcoin. Yeah, a weird name for an app but it is as literal as it gets, you basically get incentives for taking steps. the screenshot above was just from one hour at work! Imagine if you're already walking around work so much why not earn a little extra pocket change for those steps accumulated the entire day. The best part is you’re granted the chance to use your sweatcoins’ for gadgets and or gift cards from Amazon and PayPal. An even better aspect of Sweatcoin are the prizes changing daily so you never know what will pop up, it is always exciting. Also works best for those with a Fitbit or Applewatch & your iPhone must be 5s or newer! Join here and GET PAID TO WALK !
This app is actually great! I downloaded it today and already have $15 sweatcoin currency in my wallet from walking around work and my college campus.
This app seemd too good to be true but i actually am motivated to walk aroudn now lol. It feels great ot be able to run errands and also move around constantly while earning some steps to get prizes, its like doing nothing for something, ‘m almost at that $20 paypal prize, get the app and invite your friends !
(ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
okay i have to try this
I don’t know about any of you but I’m up for it!
If this was in Australia I’d combine it with my micro investing app Acorns so that the most I walk the more I would invest.

Hears some vapourware edits I did for some people on fb
what is something you feel growing or changing inside you right now?
I feel that I’m changing the way I view myself and act. Trying to be more selfless and be better at understanding my emotions as well as other’s emotions in regards to my actions.
Why I’m only half Vegetarian/Vegan & what influenced my decision
Not too long ago I was watching a Ted talk and the presenter talks about a diet/lifestyle choice called weekday Vegetarian (I’ll link it below). Which essentially means you only allow yourself to eat meat on the weekends and the rest of the week Vegetarian meals. I
I thought about it over the next week or so and did a bit of search myself.
Upon my finding I found out facts like;
- it takes 6800L (1800gal) of water to produce half a kg (1lbs) of beef and 2175L (575gal) for pork in comparison to about 400L (100gal) for half a kg of corn.
- as much as 7kgs of grain to produce 1kg of meat.
- 32% of the worlds greenhouse emissions comes from raising livestock where transportation only accounts for 30%
- Approximately 50% of the worlds mass food production doesn’t even make it to our mouths (fruit and veg included).
-transporting of meat requires more refrigeration and packaging than fruit and veg meaning it uses more electricity and single use plastics
- eating less meat has massive health benefits such as a decrease risk in cardiovascular problems and diseases, lowered cholesterol and higher nutritional intake.
- the worlds strongest strongman and worlds oldest performing heart surgeon are Vegan as well as countless athletes.
While I’m only a weekday vegetarian I do try to pick vegan options where possible in my busy life. For example I choose vegan options when it’s offered at restaurants over the vegetarian options or use vegan ingredients when I am cooking for myself. As dinner is often made for the whole family and sometimes it’s difficult enough to convince my parents that they should serve my meal without the steak or fish etc, and with more veggies in the first place.
While I know most vegans will still look down on me and call me unethical etc and say I can do more. This is my personal choice and just one way I’m helping lower demand on worldwide meat consumption and my carbon footprint. It’s a compromise on what I want and what’s good for the world.
At the end of the day every little bit counts. That’s why I take my own reusable straw, chopsticks, jar and cotton/canvas bag with me whenever I leave the house in order to help lower my plastic consumption as well.
