this is probably so mean but the “healing my inner teenager” “elder emo group therapy” “it was never a phase 🖤❤️‍🩹” sentiment is so fucking corny and lameeeee im not going to these shows bc i have nostalgia and childhood trauma or whatever im going to them because i like watching the lead singer get berated sexually and the music is good

also theres something really patronizing about people continuing to equate mcr’s music with adolescence/immaturity/emotional instability and the implication that they grew up and now this is some sort of guilty pleasure indulgence or thing theyre doing for a perpetually 13 year old version of themself because theyre insecure about liking mcr at their big age. like girl shut up its a good band you’re allowed to just like them

phm is decently popular in japan and i mostly see this when i check twitter and see accounts posting pictures of handmade rocky plushies that are so fucking round looking it brings a tear to my eye
