I think my sketches are too rough to really give anything away (unless you can miraculously read that 3 pt font that's been screen captured), but here's what I've got in the works for this the event. The nice thing about this is that it can also serve as a prologue of sorts to my Round 5. The not so nice thing is that I really want it done by Saturday so it doesn't have to be part of my round. This format goes against what I've been doing for the past two rounds, and I have enough inconsistencies as is.

I really wish I had done more with Drelia's intro comic. There was another 8-10 pages that I had planned out, showing her reasons for leaving Driftveil. It was very Esmeralda-ish, but it gave you a pretty good sense of her character.

I wish I had taken the time to develop more relationships for Drel, both in-comic and in general. It's becoming really apparent that the relationships she has now are going to shape her future in Duality, and, to be honest, that's sort of terrifying. Exciting, but terrifying.

At one point, I would have loved to have worked in something with Mytho's connection to the original Aura Guardian, and Drel's involvement with the Spiritomb. That would have made for some really fun storytelling, but, alas, our stories went in different directions and our characters ended up doing their own thing.

I'm really looking forward to bringing in more politics and more direct involvement in the war into Drelia's story. She has made herself into more than just a pawn in the princes' war, and I'm excited to see where that's going to take her, and what she's going to do with that. Also, the Game of Thrones fan in me is just giddy with the potential for scheming and plotting and backstabbing.

While I am glad that Nusingr hasn't thought to bust in on Drelia's story unwelcomed, I would like to potentially elaborate further on what their relationship had been like. However, I really don't intend to do that unless it's going to add something to Drel's story...

Initially, she wasn't going to live. During her character creation, I had every intention to kill her off before this thing was through. However, as events progressed, I became less and less certain if that was the ending I really wanted for her. And the further I get into this tournament, the more I start switching around my plans for her ending. She could die, but this thing instead of that could kill her. But no, I do like the idea of that, but maybe it could lead to something different, and it gets all so convoluted and muddled, even I don't know what's going to happen to her at this point.

When Drel was younger, it was assumed that one day she’d have children, and they’d grow up and manage the family business, just like it would have been her job had she not chosen a different path in life. Currently, however, she believes it is foolish to even consider bringing a child into a world undergoing not just one war, but two. And she would be damned if she allowed herself to raise a bastard child. The only situation in which she would even consider having children would be if she were wed, and that’s more of a security measure than a true desire to have children.

I also think that the way Drel would raise her children depends on who the father is, or the circumstances under which they were born. If Drel hated the guy (and it isn’t below her to marry someone she dislikes for money or status or security), then she would be the most loving mother, ensuring that her child was a happy one, all the while using them to get on the father’s nerves. She would spoil them as much as would be in her power, to make sure that the child is attached to her, and casually talk to the child of the spats that are guaranteed to happen between her and her spouse, playing the role of the victim and villainizing the father. The skills she would teach children born in this situation would be how to read people and how to use that knowledge to manipulate others into giving them what they want. So, in a sense, she could potentially raise some pretty decent politicians or little lordlings and ladies, or even good merchants, depending on the family’s trade, but they would probably end up hating their father—and Drel, too, if they’re smart enough.
