Narrator’s POV

It was already late when the meeting finally ended. The overtime they’d been pulling all week had been productive but exhausting.

Especially for Yoongi.

H: Yoon?

Y: hm…what?.- he mumbled, voice thick with sleep.

H: try not to fall asleep until we get home, okay? I can’t carry you, remember?

Y: tsk. I won’t fall asleep.- crossed his arms, pouting like a stubborn cat.

H: are you sulking at me now?- asked, eyes still on the road.

Y: no. >:(

H: you are.

Y: ugh, Jung, just drive!

Hoseok sighed, glancing at him briefly.

Yoongi looked…off. More than just tired. And he knew why.

The overtime, the stress…Yoongi hadn’t had the space to regress at all.

And when he didn’t, everything built up inside him, messy and overwhelming, until it started slipping out in little cracks.

H: Yoon?- tried again, softer this time.

Y:…hm.

H: there’s traffic. it’s gonna take a while so…you can sleep.

Yoongi didn’t argue this time.

He shifted in his seat, curling slightly toward the window, shoulders relaxing as his eyes fluttered shut.

The tension melted out of him little by little, like a cat finally settling somewhere safe.

By the time they reached the garage, Yoongi was completely out.

Hoseok sat there for a moment, watching him. He really didn’t want to wake him but his back throbbed just thinking about lifting him.

H:…yeah, no. I’m not waking you.

He got out, walked around the car and carefully picked Yoon up.

Y: mm…Hobi…- murmured, instinctively leaning into him.

H: shhh, go back to sleep, kitten.- whispered, locking the car with one hand.

Y: hurts…

H: I’m okay, sweetheart. I’ve got you.- he adjusted his hold slightly. -let’s get you to bed, yeah?

Yoongi only hummed, face pressing into Hoseok’s shoulder, already half-gone again. His body went soft in his arms, completely trusting.

It wasn’t unusual. Even out of regression, Yoon leaned on him like this.

Inside, Hoseok moved carefully.

He changed Yoongi into something more comfortable, turned on the AC, and tucked him into bed, guiding him gently under the blankets. Min instinctively curled up, pulling his Kumamon plush close, nuzzling into it like it was something alive.

Jung’s expression softened.

H: good boy…sleep well.

He left the nightlight on, just in case, and quietly stepped out.

The Next Day ☀︎

Hoseok let out a relieved sigh as he walked back home.

That morning had started normally…until he checked his phone: > Day off <

He didn’t hesitate. He went straight to Yoongi’s room, turned off his alarm and slipped out to the convenience store.

When he got back, he poured himself a glass of water, still thinking about what to eat when something nudged his side.

H: AAAAH!- jumps.

Y: humhmm.- covered his ears, whining softly at the noise.

H: Jeez, you scared me, Yoon.- Hoseok laughed breathlessly, hand on his chest.

Then he really looked at him.

Messy hair. Half-lidded eyes. Slow movements. Clingy. Small.

Hoseok’s voice softened immediately.

H: Oh… hey, baby.

He pulled him into a gentle hug, one hand coming up to stroke his hair.

H: sorry for the scream, sweetheart…didn’t mean to scare you.

Min made a quiet sound, pressing closer, rubbing his face against Jung’s shoulder like a sleepy kitten seeking warmth while also trying to hide from the light.

H: and…I’m sorry I left you home alone.- added softly and reached into the bag. -look what I got you.

Min’s eyes widened instantly at the sight of the fish-shaped pastry. Bright. Shiny. Familiar.

But instead of grabbing it, he just leaned closer.

Y: hm~

H: still sleepy, huh?- Hoseok murmured, lifting him slightly. Yoon blinked at him, giving a small, pouty look.

H: hey…don’t look at me like that. I’m okay, I promise.- gently tapped Yoongi’s nose.

H: I’m gonna grab some pillows, okay? then we can watch cartoons. just rest today, no work, no stress.

He set him down on the couch and went to get everything ready.

But when he came back Yoon was already curled up, fast asleep. Knees tucked in, arms close, like a tiny, tired kitten.

Hoseok smiled softly. -“…figured.”

He quietly put everything back, then returned to pick him up again, careful not to wake him.

After turning off the lights, he settled into bed with Yoongi tucked against him. Almost immediately, Yoon shifted closer on instinct, face pressing into his chest.

Hoseok wrapped an arm around him, fingers slipping into his hair, gently combing through it.

H: sleep tight, kitten…- pressed a soft kiss to his dark hair.

The TV played quietly in the background, something light and comforting, as his hand continued its slow, soothing motions.

Not long after…he fell asleep too.
