The Country Club Elephant Dream
I meet my mother working in a shop. She asks me to grab her something; I grab something and hand it to her. Mayhaps, I handed her a potato. There was another guy at work with her. I could not tell who that guy was based on in my regular reality.
My mother and I had gone for a walk and a trip to a restaurant. At the restaurant, as it so happens, Lat, Wcott, & Yhomas were there, sitting at a table. The table and the atmosphere were swart to black.
After that, I remember a glass ordering thing. I remember something that, perhaps, was mint chocolate chip ice cream. Also, there could have been various other desserts. I think all the desserts were based on a fancy restaurant I had attended before with an ex-girlfriend and her mum, or with my grandfolk.
After this, there may have been another interaction with Lat, Wcott, and Yhomas, albeit I cannot remember, because it has been too long since I had the dream. Also, Iām sure that my mum got another job someplace else, albeit I do not remember the details. So, Iām going to move on to meeting my father. My father and I head to the same place that had the chocolate chip ice cream, but continue down the path. I assume the others, Scott, Lat, Yhomas, and my mother, had left.
Putatively, my father and I are going further into the restaurant for food. Mayhaps, my archaic tendencies ended us up at an old-timey country club restaurant full of rich people. My father and I take a loop because, I assume, weāre not one of those people.
We walk through fancy hallways, similar to Putin, with swagger.
Weāre avoiding getting caught. Iām pretty sure my father was caught, and we were told to walk out. Once we walk out, weāre either in a mall or outside the old-timey place.
I see someone based on my friend, Yousef, whom I met in Shanghai, China. Albeit, itās not truly Yousef, but a buff lady with a giant head. Now, weāre certainly inside a mall. Thereās grey granite and, mayhaps, some gilded strips throughout the flooring.
We fade to a parking lot. Together, we practice our sprints. We exchange leads until I show off my youth and sprint into a fence, which has elephants behind it.
I decide whether or not the elephants are dangerous. Thinking about how an elephantās jaw could destroy your jugular, I decide, in the end, to pet the elephant.
At this point, the elephant is small enough that I can pet its entire face while standing on the ground. After this, the details become hazy, or I have forgotten them.

One-sentence Robot Explanation: The dream seems to be about moving through family, class anxiety, social memory, and strange status-coded spaces, before ending in a moment where something potentially dangerous, the elephant, becomes gentle enough to approach.
The emotional pattern is probably: family ā social awkwardness ā fancy/rich-people alienation ā getting caught/out of place ā youthful showing off ā danger becoming tame.
Dream Glossary:
Putatively Supposedly, allegedly, or according to assumption. It is used when something is believed to be true, but not known for certain. Example: Putatively, my father and I are going further into the restaurant for food.
Albeit Although, even though, or however. It introduces a contrast or limitation. Example: There may have been another interaction with Lat, Wcott, and Yhomas, albeit I cannot remember, because it has been too long since I had the dream. Second example: Iām sure that my mum got another job someplace else, albeit I do not remember the details.
Mayhaps A playful, archaic-sounding version of perhaps or maybe. Example: Mayhaps, I handed her a potato. Second example: Mayhaps, my archaic tendencies ended us up at an old-timey country club restaurant full of rich people.
Swart Dark, blackish, dusky, or shadowy. It is an old-fashioned word, related to swarthy. Example: The table and the atmosphere were swart to black.
My Archaic Tendencies / Archaisms A self-mocking phrase meaning the narratorās fondness for old-fashioned, antiquated, or overly literary things. In the dream entry, it seems to imply that the narratorās attraction to old-timey aesthetics somehow leads him and his father into a fancy, country-club-like restaurant. The phrase is a little unclear, but that dreamlike uncertainty is part of the charm. Example: Mayhaps, my archaic tendencies ended us up at an old-timey country club restaurant full of rich people.
