Dreamer Dolls

She was SO much fun to work on, I've wanted to custom a Skelita for aaages, her sculpt is just so gorgeous. Definitely helped that its a white base for a white character as it would be veeerry difficult to achieve a clear base on another doll.

I'm not especially pleased that I was unable to rid her of most of her glue-head, so I decided to play it off as its her greasy, undead hair instead. I would also redo her belt if I had more time as it could have been a bit more floral, as I'd initially intended it to look like marigolds to relate back to her dia de los muertos themes. I had also initially intended for her to have a fringe on the brim of her hat, as well as a half mask in the shape of a music note, but I didn't have time to source the amount of fringe I needed and I ended up scrapping the mask as it would be both difficult to place upon half of her face as well as obstructing the hat.

Overall I love how she came out; her outfit was decently close to her concept art, her face-up and overall body blushing was so nice whilst relating to the Spooky Trails designs, and she has a decaying opulence that fits with the vibes I was going for. I love the scrappiness of her skirt and outfit, both being easier to sew but also following the themes of the character being undead. The blue shading on her face and body imitated the blues present on the Spooky Trails enemies whilst also giving a high-contrast colour to really make her skeleton sculpt pop. Though I couldn't go through with my intentions for her hat, I do love how the feathers give it a bit more drama and height, the face on the back once again drawing inspiration from the Spooky Trail enemies.
