Waiting for March

quiet, that's all it had been since the scientists had robbed her of her memories

she had gotten them back, fortunately, but the fact that she'd spent nearly all of her time reading manga, watching anime, and playing video games did bug her quite a bit.  not that she was changing her habits at all.

the odd visitor came by and she was generally able to cater to their whims in exchange for donations.  more than once, she'd had to come out wearing nothing but an apron.  it was a good thing that the cold had stopped bothering her when she became a god, because the temperature was usually below freezing during these visits.

there was something strange about this particular patron though.  she was simply wandering around the grounds.  she had inspected the donations bin, but instead of making one, she proceeded to look around, even going so far as to start up the steps.

if she opened the door and looked inside it could be bad.  part of her appeal as a shrine god was her ability to cater to the tastes of her patrons.  if they found out that it wasn't her godliness allowing her to do that, who knows what could happen.

so she decided to take the most reasonable course of action.

"here's Nadeko" she shouted, jumping out the door and flying into the girl's face, sending both of them sprawling down the stairs

something about a light novel.  that was all she could remember from her time here, that and the fact that she'd spent most of her time playing video games and watching anime.  she couldn't seem to remember which.  however some of the faces that she passed on her way to the shrine did seem kind of familiar.

she didn't know why she needed to go to the shrine, just that she needed to, she might find some answers as to what she had to do there.  she remembered being a shrine god before, so maybe that had something to do with it.  when she finally reached the shrine she opened to door, completely disregarding shrine conventions in favor of finding answers.  what she saw surprised her.

while she was expecting typical shrine fair, she found her own drawing supplies as well as a large stack of video games and anime dvds.  had she been doing that much research? what was she researching for, she couldn't seem to remember at all, and it didn't help that all of the pages were blank.  she barely had time to acquaint herself with her surroundings before the bell went off, signifying that someone had made a donation.  at least this part was standard, she shifted her hair into snakes, slammed open the door and dived out at the person

"here's Nadeko!" she called out as she flew

she fell regrettably short of the person, instead faceplanting into the donation box itself, breaking it beneath her face.  at least she was able to get the money out

"oh!" she grinned, "this is a lot, you know there are no takebacks right? this is mine now."

she paused for a second to spin around on one foot, holding the dollar above her head, before stopping to face the donator and continuing
