Hades and Persephone are the driving couple of the story, as the plan when I made it was to re-focus the plot back to them as the focal point, especially as it pertains to the original myth that LO was based on.

That said, there are some other relationships we'll be exploring in the future, but I ain't saying who because I don't wanna spoil the fun 😘

Athena, based on 2000-year-old bronze bust of a Yemeni princess whose name was written in the Sabaic language on her neck "Nadeen dhe Sadqen Shams". I thought the writings looked like a cool chocker necklace.

i'm pretty sure the POC woman who you forcibly transformed into a low class nymph to work as your servant as some kind of 'test' to prove the bond of love between her and your son who is a god by the way was still within earshot when you started screaming about how nymphs aren't good enough for gods and them trying to be in relationships with gods is an embarrassment to your kind

After dying (more or less) Kol finds himself in a liminal state from which he longs to escape. But to transcend to the Underworld, he needs to recover something very important that belongs to him. To do so, he will be aided by two dearest ones… One will journey across the surface, under the sun, in search of the missing piece. The other will follow him down through the dark galleries of the soul, to bring Kol’s entire story to light… piece by piece.

Thracian magic, ancient rituals, secrets, promises, Hecate, the Great Goddess and her Son-Sun, gods and goddesses, poison, fire, flowers, snakes, wolves, cats, rebellions, battles, long voyages across the seas, Kings and Queens, betrayal, blood, ecstasy, violence, life, sex, death and, above all: Love.

When it comes to Kore's involvement in all this, it's worth to remember that up until this point, she hasn't really defined any sort of boundaries with herself and her relationship with Hades, mostly because she didn't even realize she had to until it was too late. I mean she just pieced it together like an hour ago (in-universe time) that she even had feelings for Hades LOL

So while what she's saying is true to herself, that she hasn't had an affair with Hades, she's not romantically involved with him, etc. to everyone else on the outside (especially Apollo!) what's 'true' looks a lot different. It's very much a series of unfortunate misunderstandings and miscommunication.

But also, even if none of those misunderstandings had occurred, even if Hades wasn't in the picture, Apollo and Kore still have a lot of baggage to work through both independently of one another and together, meaning their relationship would still have its issues. When it comes to Apollo's insecurity, if it wasn't Hades, it would be someone else; and when it comes to Kore's secrecy, she has a lot of trust issues that impact many parts of her life outside of where Hades is concerned. And that's not even getting into Persephone's problems.

IIRC Apollo was also really weird about Kore studying with Alex (and in hindsight his insensitive reaction to her being ghosted by Alex was 100% because he was relieved they wouldn't be talking anymore).

My favorite Persephone is the one who is inches away from committing another Act of Wrath. What's yours?

This is the first panel to trigger Apollo's suspicions! Imagine your girlfriend coming through the door when you THOUGHT she had been at home and sleeping off a hangover this whole time! But now she's wearing some mysterious red fur coat that she DEFINITELY didn't have at the party! (and would later appear in the tabloids!) This is probably one of my favorite panels in the entire episode, just because of how it's framed and lit. It's like a horror movie in daylight.

Getting Persephone's hairstyle, shade of lipstick, and jewellery / outfit right in all these callback panels took a loooot of time. But the fun of it was that it gave me the opportunity to redraw a lot of those old scenes! Some of them are so old that even Banshriek wasn't working on the comic yet 😭

Apollo is eating the breakfast that Artemis cooked in Episode 47! Let's just say there's a reason it looks like that- 💀😆

Remember this? Welp, if you guessed it was that time Kore accepted Hades' Fatesbook friend request in the middle of the night and Hades proceeded to write a love letter before putting a hit out on Alex, you'd be right, oop-

Now THIS one is a big oof. If you'll recall from Episode 66, after Apollo snatched Kore's phone, Kore went on to say that she was worried about Alex who hadn't responded to her texts or shown up to class. Which is indeed a problem that she's concerned with in and of itself. But what's shown at the end of that episode is that she was also being ghosted by Hades - and as we now see from Apollo's perspective, it was her texts with Hades that she was trying to protect.

(and to the folks who are concerned he never left and just waited outside all evening, dw, he did leave after he dropped her off LOL his car isn't exactly discreet and he wouldn't dare get caught on Hera's property 💀😅)

From another person's perspective, Persephone's actually pretty frigging scary!

Sooo it turns out he didn't just send her dog pics. Therein lies the danger of those alluring late night conversations u.u

(also, all the timestamps shown in every phone screen and text exchange in this episode are accurate to whatever time was depicted during the original episode! formatting all the phone screens was easily the most tedious part of developing this episode LOL)

We never actually saw it in the original scene, but this was indeed the face Kore made when she said "I love you" back to Apollo.

Attentive viewers may notice the 'film grain' effects on top of the memories are absent in this final shot. We are no longer in the past of Apollo's memories, but in the present. Clotho and Lachesis are weaving new memories as we speak, and Atropos can be heard cackling menacingly in the shadows.

This is indeed the same outfit we just talked about in another post! idc what anyone says, that fit SLAYED (although I'm JUST NOW realizing I forgot her earrings and face make-up, oops-)
