NIGHT-GAUNTS

Out of what crypt they crawl, I cannot tell,

But every night I see the rubbery things,

Black Burned , and slender, with membranous wings,

They come in legions on the north wind's swell

With obscene clutch that titillates and stings,

Snatching me off on monstrous voyagings

To grey worlds hidden deep in nightmare's well.

Over the jagged peaks of Thok they sweep,

Heedless of all the cries I try to make,

And down the nether pits to that foul lake

Where the puffed shoggoths splash in doubtful sleep.

But ho! If only they would make a sound,

Or wear a face where faces should be found!

Some Little Nightmares ideas for possible extra residents of the Maw.

Stowaway/Shoe monster is self explanatory. Based on the unseen monster in the shoe room. Cranky man that snuck into the Maw and kept hidden within its walls, stealing food or gnawing on leather and leeches.

Physician is an old doctor who assists keeping the other residents healthy, and personally tends to the Lady with various skin and beauty remedies. She has a small room somewhere in the Lair.

Shadow Man is a former guest of the Maw. Who was turned into a shadowy servant by the Lady. He haunts the shadows of the guest area. Helps serve the food and whispers delightful temptation into the ears of other guests.
