we don’t see janna writing at all in this scene, which means she was either writing when she was off screen, or she had just been making a “star is mayor” sign in her free time. 

I don’t know, it kinda gives me hope? I don’t really like it when I talk about my personal life here on this blog, (mainly cuz I wanna keep this blog purely janstar), but my personal life is sorta connected to janstar and basically why I ship it.

Soooooooo….. I have a crush on this girl. Since I don’t wanna say names imma call her Drama Kid, cuz well, she’s in drama. And she’s….. ughhhh. How do I even. She’s funny and nice and, uh, flirts with me? I think it’s flirting? THIS IS WHY WE NEED SHIRTS THAT SAY YOUR SEXUALITY ON THEM HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW IF ITS A GO SIGN?!

Also she’s really pretty and likes making people laugh and feel neat.

She’s.. basically Star. All she’s missing is a wand and a crush on a guy named Marco. But I really hope that last part is not true. And I’m Janna, that weird girl that she hangs out with sometimes and the ones makes weird mean comments and jokes in English class to hide her feelings.

And it’s torture ok? I like Drama kid so much, and knowing that, due to my socials skills, I’ll probably don’t know if she likes me or not. It’s like I’ve died and gone to that weird hell where my punishment is I will never get a straight answer from the girl I like. (Haha, straight answer.

And that’s why ship janstar. Not only it is cute and the relationship dynamic is great, It’s hope. If janstar happens, it’ll tell me that, “oh hey! Things can work out for Star and Janna, maybe this is a sign!” I know there’s other shows that probably have the same dynamic as janstar but Star vs the forces of evil is that one that’s more important to me. Why? Cuz it’s my fav show of all time!

Because if it can happen to Star and Janna, it can happen to me too.

And I’m holding to that.

Of course, as of right now, we don’t know exactly what’s gonna be happening at the end of season 2; whether there’ll be any Starco at all or not. However, if anything DOES become canon with it in this season specifically, that’s a good sign that Janstar will end up as the endgame.

As people have already pointed out, there are already some noticeable comparisons between Makorra/Korrasami and Starco/Janstar. Star and Marco dating would in fact complete that parallel, as Mako and Korra dated for a short period before discovering they didn’t work out, leaving the doors open for Korra and Asami to end up together. Season 2 started production soon after Korrasami became canon; more than enough time for the writers to draw inspiration from that. 

And even now, there are hints that any Starco wouldn’t last-everything romantic we’ve seen related to them so far seems to put more strain on their friendship than it does strengthen it. And mainly, the Blood Moon? That thing all the Starco shippers point at as fuel for the ship? Not only is the idea of some outside entity forcing two people to be in a relationship HORRIFYING, it also runs counter to Star’s entire character arc-she does not want her destiny controlled by anyone, so forcing her into a relationship with Marco because “the moon said so” would be a BAFFLINGLY hypocritical move on the part of the writers. If they got together THIS soon, with at LEAST a full season left to go, it’s likely they would build up to a breakup before too long, much like what happened with Korra and Mako.

Compare that to Janna and Star, whose friendship is EXTREMELY close, growing closer by the episode, and gives off similar vibes to Korra and Asami’s; hell, Star is starting to spend MORE screentime with Janna than with Marco.

Overall, there are too many Korra parallels, and too many things in the show pointing to romantic Starco not working out, that even IF they go for Starco in Season 2, I feel like it would be most likely to build up to a Janstar endgame.
