First, what I’ve seen people point out, is that it covers his iconic spikes. In AA4 he’s doing everything he can to keep a low profile and play the part of a disgraced has-been asshole and he uses the beanie to cover up the old him.

Next, Ema’s pin. In rise from the ashes Ema talks about how determined she is to become a forensic investigator constantly but when we see her in AA4, she’s a homicide detective because she failed her forensics exam. She and phoenix and kind of the same, both of them being determined to succeed in their field and failing. Ema used to say about how she’s going to change the world of forensic science and Phoenix did change the legal world, but now both their efforts have been undermined.

This started as my entry for narumitsu week (all the way from July >x<) for the first day which had the prompt Firsts. My idea was to draw Edgeworth's first attempt at asking Wright out and kinda failing. But I ended up really just wanting to draw them all having dinner together.

So, because I'm a slow artist, and I didn't realise how much I don't know how to draw this took me forever. So here is my very very late day 1 to narumitsu week.
