My Matching Pets
These are my best friends. The top is my cat, Kitty. The bottom is my dog, Lucy. In appearance, they're a lot alike. They're both black and white, they're both relatively small for their breeds, they both have big, pointy ears, and they even have crooked tails. None of this was intended, of course. We got Lucy at a rescue shelter, and Kitty, well you could say she came to us. She was an abandoned kitten who just wanted some love, and decided to follow me home.
As alike as these animals are in looks, they could not be more different in personality. Lucy is very shy and afraid of basically everything. She's the kind of dog that gets embarrassed when she farts. When she's in trouble she cries and puts her tail in between her legs. But as shy as she is, she's also insanely attached to me. When I leave for even a couple hours, she waits for me on my bed. When she hears me come home, she goes insane, as if she thought she'd never see me again. She loves me.Â
Kitty on the other hand is slightly evil. She's sneaky and a trickster. When she uses the litter box, she'll look you dead in the eyes. Sometimes she pukes up hairballs (always in inconvenient places), and then she sticks around to watch you clean it up. It's like she thinks it's funny. She sleeps in my drawers just to make me mad, I think. She likes to annoy Lucy as well. She attacks her (in a playful way) and then sits on the table because she knows Lucy can't get her back that way. But she's not always like that. Occasionally she'll come to me, and curl up on my lap and cry until I scratch her and she falls asleep. She loves me too.Â
