Sombaug's one who's had a few fairly substantial design elements changed compared to his first iteration years ago. On top of that, in the last couple weeks he got a significant plot relevance overhaul that favorably upended something that's been in place nearly since the start of this worldbuilding back around 2005-2006!

Thankfully as far as last year's book is concerned, it seems like I kept info generalized to each character enough that it didn't mean I retroactively messed up any details surrounding that information about him or the other previously involved character, hahahaha.

New Kickstarter from Jason Brubaker, my friend and comic/graphic novel artist!

If you're relatively new to art, just wanting to get started, looking for something helpful in lieu of a lack of art school, or are looking for a new method to approach learning to draw things, this is a book that I think'd be right for you! 

Before pandemic time largely forced me to stop working in the office, I'd been in and out seeing this project develop from its earlier iterations, so I can vouch for it!

*especially if you hate drawing hands 'cuz we sure as heck discussed building on that topic for the book!*

An hour long-ish doodle that started with one related quick sketch idea, wasn't coming together but eventually turned into a new sketch altogether and hit a point where I started slapping a couple more things on out of curiosity and then turned into this; but the end result actually illustrates pretty well what Flare's flames are like.  Starts black, then cool down into normal yellows-reds. Also it elaborates on the usefulness of the vents along his body.

So, funny thing with this guy is that realistically, Bolthound has done more for giving him a proper fullbody art long before I did.   When I finally got the lineart drawn for the book last year and made preliminary plans for his eventual color palette/layout, I referred to both her giftart and a couple passes I'd been making to settle the decision, haha.

Shiny alt for Necrozma! As it turned out, seeing as the Ultra Wormholes kinda use either blues or purples as their main color, made for easier choices when choosing how to differentiate at a distance, haha.

Perl's one that's been around nearly as long as others like Flare and Sylvar, but has almost never received a fullbody art since 2009-ish and has vastly changed even color altogether since then. Originally she was white and blue and also actually had sapphire-blue armor in the original draft of the first book when I first started the worldbuilding thang. Entirely possible that could carry over into the new canon/comic'ing in the future but a lot of context has changed in 10+ years.

For the most part, seems like the majority of upcoming drakhan artworks are ones that haven't had full drawings prior but've technically been around for quite along while, haha.  Imora's one that in-universe would be around the same age as Flare

Blaziken shiny alt!  Just about forgot to put this one up 'cuz sites were all acting up that day.  This one was another difficult one in the sense of having smaller differences in colors, namely a deeper red and whiter base compared to the norm.  So again it made for making more changes to the bg as well to help it stand out
