So as many of you know, Tox has returned once again, but this time to Dappervolk. For those not in the know, Tox is a user who has been repeatedly banned from pet sites for pedophilia. In a more infamous event, he was caught actively grooming children and trying to move their interactions off site to continue the activity.

I am not in the DV discord however a close friend of mine is and has reported that younger members of the community are getting increasingly uncomfortable with his presence. Since I have somewhat of a platform in this community, I would like to ask you all to please assist me in getting DV’s attention on to this guy and the threat he poses. Here and here are receipts for his predatory action (TW: pedophilia, blocked off pedophilic art, abuse).

Per DV’s rules, users are not allowed to “Repeatedly or maliciously use the Dappervolk customer support ticketing system to target a User”. For this reason I cannot recommend reporting him via the ticket desk however I will state that the friend who brought this to my attention did and I intend to as well. If you do decide to report them, you can do so by clicking “ticket desk” at the bottom of the page and going from there. Due to the site being new, I am unsure how the mods will respond to this sort of thing so be careful if you go this route. Ideally one report from many people about the same person shouldn’t cause issues (especially regarding matters like this), however it is a new site and we haven’t had much time to see the mods in action aside from two years ago in beta.

I also highly discourage on site interaction with/about him as the rules also state that you are not allowed to “Incite a group of users to single out, shame, or ostracize (i.e. "tar-and-feathering") a user”. (Though as far as I understand, off-site content that does not directly link to/from DV is fair game). I am unsure how the mods would inforce this rule when it is applied to DM’s.

These are not the only rules that apply to this situation, so be mindful when considering action.

Adults, now is the time we need to step up and work to protect the younger members of our community. We may not be their parents/guardians and thus are technically not responsible for their safety, however I think we have a moral obligation to at least try.

How to block him:

Account (top of the page under avatar) -> Settings (bottom of drop down list) -> Block/Mute List (under the scroll reading account)

You will then need to type in “5688” (their ID number) into the “Block User” text box and click on the green check mark (do not press enter). You can also type in their username (Tox) however the number is more reliable as it cannot be changed.

Final Note to Minors:

Minors, avoid this person at all costs. If you see him do not interact, just block and move on. He is an experienced predator and while you may be confident that you won’t fall for his tricks, you are better safe than sorry.

You have no obligation to try and stop this man. In fact, I discourage you from doing so. This is a time for adults in the community to step up and protect you— please do not put yourself in harms way trying to stop this predator. I apologize if this comes off as condescending, but I know my stubborn 15y/o butt would try and confront this guy and I cannot emphasize how much of a bad idea that is.

so as someone who very frequently creates & posts outfits, i get asked about the outfit ids a lot! people who don’t know how to see the items in the outfit or people wondering about the numbers in the post - this is for you.

so imagine i post something like this. you come across this post, and you’d like to use the outfit in it - but you can’t figure out the apparel items that were used in the outfit, or you’re curious as to the order of the layering!

to do that, you want to access the outfit in the dressing room, and to do that, you’ll want to have the outfit id. the outfit id is the series of numbers next to the name of the outfit (in this case, 1027105). some people will prefix it with “#” or add “id” somewhere to make clear that that is what these numbers are, but i prefer leaving them out. either way, these numbers are the important bit and you should copy them!

(a sidenote on why people use the id system, rather than links: tumblr has this thing where posts with links don’t really tend to show up in searches, hence why so many posts also say things like “links in reblog” and such. it’s a way to keep posts more visible!)

Looks like Volcanic Vents is your absolute best bet for getting loot that will be useful for trading - as in, everything in there is self contained, tradeable with itself for chests!

Second to the Vents with at least two individual drop pairs that trade well, comes the Training Fields, Bamboo Falls, Rainsong Jungle, Crystal Pools, Ghostlight Ruins, and the Kelp Beds.

The higher level venues also come with four different encounterable enemies, aka four “different” drop sets, which may or may not help to reward those who choose to farm there. For higher level venues, Crystal Pools will be your realm of choice, with Ghostlight being an acceptable second.
