The thing is that I am painfully aware that I am my own worst critic. The fact that my perception of my own art is wholly distinct from that of others is mundane to me, so it doesn't particularly bother me and I view it as just kind of a brain phenomena rather than a way to measure the quality of my work or my confidence.
