*DRACO [Ā theblccdtraitorā ]
āOh, itās a nice ways away..ā He mumbles the words, like heās already thinking about how to get there. He has thought about how to run, all summer thatās what he did, but he was still of his mind enough to know that he needed to pretend that everything was fine, he knew that in a House as politically motivated as the Slytherinās he couldnāt very well say āfuck the Dark Lord, I actually hate him.ā as much as he really, really wanted to. To think not even a year ago that thought wouldnāt have crossed his mind even once.
So, heād smirked and flaunted and snapped at anyone who asked if heād been Marked. He played the part well but now heās falling apart and it doesnāt take much to see it.
āAustraliaās nice.. Though I would love to see you try and survive with all those abnormally large insects about.ā Draco smiles softly at the thought. He thinks he can imagine it if he was a little more sober.
āMi EspaƱol es perfecto.ā He purrs, resting his head back against the arm of the chair, eyes slipping closed. He almost looked peaceful like that, opening his eyes just a crack to peer down at Theo from behind his eyelashes.
He drops his voice down to a whisper, then, turning on his side to face him fully. āIām not kidding, Theo. I canāt run with this,ā He twitches the fingers on his left hand, a grimace of distaste crossing his face. āBut you can, canāt you? Find somewhere safe?ā For once in all the time theyāve known each other, Draco feels like heās being honest with him for the first time, he feels like a real person rather than the shoddy attempt at being his Father.
He hates that it took a War to push him to this point, to know how to be outwardly worried and scared and everything heād tried so hard not to be.
āHey, Iāll have you know I am quite fluent with the incendia charm. Iāll smoke those bastards before they could even get close to me.ā Theo chuckled, blindly reaching out next to him to grab the bottle from Dracoās hand. He hadnāt thought about running away, he was many things but he didnāt like to think that he was a coward. He had seen the Dark Mark on Dracoās skin, it was hard sharing a dorm with someone and not seeing it. It was violent and dark and stood out against his pale skin and Theo knew that he would do anything to try and escape that fate. His father couldnāt exactly force him to get it, right?
Still, Theo wasnāt going to run and he grinned lazily when he finally took hold of the bottle. He didnāt feel drunk but his movements gave him away, gave away how the Fire Whiskey was numbing away the pain and filters from his brain.
āDamn it. I would kill to know Spanish. Like what use is Welch anyways? Ever heard someone in this bloody school speak it? Nac oes.ā Theo murmured, finally during his attention back to Draco. His friend looked ready to faint and Theo did a mental check, trying to remember if he still had any Sober-Up potion in his luggage, amongst the multitude of potions his elves had stocked him with for the school term.
āYouāre...Iām not running. Youāre crazy.ā His words were slurred but his eyes gave away how panicked he was at just the suggestion of running. He couldnāt run, not really. He wasnāt a coward and while self-preservation was a trait Slytherins are known to possess, Theo had done the calculations in his head already. He had looked at this through every angle, he had journals fulled with arithmancy, even tried taking up divination to try and figure out the answer.Ā āYou think Potter...has a chance? Against Him? The Prophecy is stupid and when Potter is dead, Iām not that eager to join him.ā
